🎃👟 Celebrate Spooky Season – YMCA Style!

Looking for a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit and support a great cause? Join us for the Monster Dash 5K hosted by our friends at the Southern Boone Area YMCA! 🧡

It’s the perfect chance to run (or walk!) for a cause, celebrate spooky season, and come together as a YMCA community for something positive, fun, and impactful. Proceeds support the Y’s Outreach Program, helping local families access childcare, memberships, and youth programs.

🗓 Saturday, October 25th; Race starts at 9AM

🌟 On behalf of the Health & Wellness Department and our Livestrong at the YMCA program, we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the StrideStrong for Livestrong 5K such an incredible event this past Saturday.

🙏 To our sponsors — JCMG, SSM Health Cancer Center, Legends Bank, Fleet Feet, Texas Roadhouse, Natural Grocers for the fruit & snacks, and Supplement Superstores for the prizes & refreshments — your support truly made this event possible.

👏 To our amazing volunteers, JC Parks for helping set up the course, and to every single runner & walker who showed up — thank you for bringing the energy and helping us throw an unforgettable race.

💛 Most importantly, to our cancer survivors: you are an inspiration, a living symbol of strength, resilience, and the fight.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, a more incredible turnout, or the kind of uplifting energy we felt all morning. Conquering the hills and terrain of Binder Park was the perfect symbol of survival and strength.

🌟 Tomorrow is Race Day! 🌟

The StrideStrong for Livestrong 5K Trail Run/Walk kicks off tomorrow at Binder Park — and we can’t wait to see a sea of yellow shirts supporting Livestrong at the YMCA and honoring cancer survivors. 💛

🕗 Arrive by 8AM if you still need to register or pick up your race bag/shirt. The race begins at 9AM sharp!

📍 Getting there: Use GPS and search 5525 Henwick Lane. From downtown Jeff City, head west on MO-179 toward Binder Park Rd., then turn right onto Henwick Lane. Once you reach the mailbox, turn left through the open gate — volunteers will guide you to parking areas along the gravel road.

👟 Pro tip: Dress for wet conditions (the grass will likely be damp), but both the trail and the weather are shaping up to be fabulous for tomorrow’s event.

This isn’t just a race — it’s a run for community, survivorship, and strength. See you on the trail tomorrow morning!
