Did you stand up too fast and feel a sharp, sudden jabbing pain in your lower belly or hip? It could be round ligament pain, which can be an annoying (but harmless) symptom during pregnancy.

It happens when the ligaments supporting your growing uterus stretch quickly, often triggered by standing up fast, rolling over in bed, or even a cough or laugh. It's most common in the second trimester and usually gets better with rest or a change in position.

As always, contact your healthcare provider if the pain doesn't ease up, or if it comes with bleeding, fever, or contractions.
