Warmest deepest mahalo to everyone who came out, sent words of encouragement and support for the Grand Opening of Kūkolu Market 💛 To say this day was magical is a complete understate ✨

I never imagined being a part of something so fulfilling and so inspiring. How this journey has unfolded is 💯 divine intervention and all I have to say is mahalo 🙏🏽

Wahine supporting wahine to live out and pursue their dreams and passion is both beautiful and addictive. It leaves me wanting more, wanting to do more and wanting to be the boldest, raddest most authentic me I can.

For those who shared their time talking story with me about ulu, real food, health and all the things, mahalo.

So stoked to share food, real, cultural food with a modern flair and see it be so well received 🧡 We SOLD OUT of our Ulu Hummus but we will definitely be back to share more wholesome goodies!

My mindset around my health and current fitness goals are just as healthy as my daily routines I create. I have learned the hard way that you cannot have one without the other.

I spent years thinking I needed results overnight, punishing myself, and running my body, hormones and gut to the ground to maintain what I thought was “healthy.”

For too long didn’t realize my roller coaster eating and torturous workouts led to hormonal imbalances and messed with my well being.

I felt tired all the time no matter how much sleep I got. I survived on coffee first half of the day and completely hit the wall the second half.

I’d tell myself, “you better get the workout in!” Or “You HAVE to finish your to do list!” Sadly my family suffered the most. My husband and kids got the worst of me.

I realized what I thought was healthy wasn’t working. Thinking I was doing all the right things, yet feeling tired, stressed and overwhelmed all the time didn’t make sense.

Turning my health around meant changing a lot of things starting with my mindset. I needed to adjust what I believed to be true. It was a complete inward process of small mindset shifts to start.

I’d like to say that I’m where I want to be but I have learned this process is a lifelong one. With ever changing season there will be adjustments along the way.

I am so proud of where I am right now. I am lit to help other women find their way, not just with their health but life in general.

Years back I was listening to a podcast (don’t remember who OR the topic) and I remember hearing this thought for the first time.

Since then this has come up in many talks, podcasts, trainings that I’ve encountered. This idea is so foundational that I always share it with my clients.

So today, what chief executive officer kine decisions are you making for your health?

What are you choosing to fuel your body with?

How are you planning to move your body?

What kine relaxation exercises are you going to do when life’s stressors start mounting?

How are you going to prioritize sleep when responsibilities and/or distractions call for your attention?

3 things I undervalued in my own health as a young adult:

1. Good stress management skills
2. Sleep quality
3. Environmental toxins

I naively thought that nutrition and exercise were all that mattered. Don’t get me wrong, they are important, but far from the overall picture that makes up our well being.

A balanced diet and consistent exercise, as good for you as they are can’t compensate for poor sleep habits, out of control stress and continual toxic exposures over the long run.

You may have found in your younger years you could get by but it’s one of those things that will catch up to you, and when it does you can straight up feel like a hot mess!

Now is a great time to develop the skills in these areas needed to truly feel well. I’m slowly growing in these areas, particularly with stress management. For a long time, I feel stress consumed me and derailed my health. It affected my hormones, sleep quality, led to gnarly cravings and impacted my relationships. Taking the time and investing in ways to manage and cope with my stress has been a game changer.

If you’ve been struggling to get your health back in balance reach out. I’d love to partner with you to feel well and thrive from the inside out. You don’t have to go at it alone 😉

This is what I value. Doing life with these crazy kids, cleaning fish alongside them. My hope is that they learn to value these casual yet gentle moments. It’s my way of giving them the world 🌎❤️
