This mini tote bag is coming together and I like the way it looks now. This bag is beginner friendly to sew and the bow added a unique style without complicated sewing technique.

This bag could have stayed simple, but I wanted one feature that made it feel special without making the project more complicated. So I added the knotted bow detail. What do you think?

This is the stage where all the little decisions start coming together.

I’m sewing the latest version of this mini tote, checking proportions, placements of the handles, and making sure it looks the way I want before I begin turning it into a pattern.

In the next video, part 4, I’ll show you how I added the bow detail to this bag. I think it gives this bag a little personality without making it complicated to sew.

Bow tie for mini tote bag that I’m designing.

This is how I usually cut my fabric. I have been doing it like this for years, back when I was sewing my own clothes. I think it’s easier to cut and I really like that all the pieces are positioned in placed before cutting.

I’m looking for a coordinating fabric to make my test bag for a pattern I’m developing. What color should I pick? I’m thinking lighter blue that is in the main fabric?

I’ve been working on a mini tote bag pattern in the past few weeks. I wanted to make a bag with a tie detail embellishment. What do you think?
