Model Call, post number four!

Today we were asked to share our prep routine leading up to the photo shoot, and I wasn’t sure whether I had one. At any rate, it hadn’t occurred to me to go out of my way and create one. I guess after rambling on for three minutes, I reaffirmed that I do have some decent self-care practices in place already… although I could probably afford to splurge on my skin a bit more!

The important thing I’m noticing is that I did not feel the need to change any part of my routine because my reason for doing the project in the first place was to document exactly how I look at this moment. Because I know my history. Every beautiful, brutal moment. I wanted to do document the woman that walked that path and the bad ass person she has become, just in time for this milestone birthday. It feels empowering knowing that I am doing this fully for my own reasons, and I’m not concerned about how my physical body will be perceived by others.

So no, I did not create a special routine in preparation for my photo shoot. However, this prompt stirred gratitude for the reminder that I really do need to whittle down my clothing options… I’m on it! 💸💸💸

As always, thanks for holding space for me to document this project here on my business page. I appreciate all of you!

One thing to know about me: if somebody says I can’t do something, I’m going to do it twice and take pictures. At 48 years young- I completed the first leg of my yoga/ SEL journey.

• thank you to the universe for the clear messages from Spirit and for withholding the rain while I rode my bike to/from work today. I’ll even think the universe for letting me wear my Sherpa one last time even though it’s a little ridiculous to be breaking out in June…
• thanks to everyone who reached out with the messages reaffirming that it’s OK for me to speak authentically on this page and letting me know they resonate
• and thanks to the divine circumstances that granted me that house to myself for a couple of hours. I am going to go take a bubble bath and meditate. I’m sure you’re not surprised. 😂
