The more I study and practice movement therapy the more excited I get!
The idea that we can observe movement with wide-eyed curiosity instead of judgment allows us to see beyond the bio mechanical alone. As if experiencing it for the first time.
If we only look through one lens, we can miss all the details that can contribute to a person’s pain and dysfunction.
Thrilled that there is a practice that allows the client to be the one holding all the knowledge.
As a practitioner, I help guide through observation, hypotheses, and interpretation over time.
Fascinating stuff- such a new and rich language to help express what is seen in the way a human body moves through space.
I will certainly love practicing this for a lifetime!
It reminds me of my grandson noticing the leaves on a tree… I want to observe with that kind of lens-“soaking in all the details”!
