What a lovely week!

Some might argue I spent too much time in the kitchen last week…
I would argue I had the exact right amount of time, butter, and (all-)purpose.
(flour jokes? Yeah, I got ’em.)

I showed up to The Bank & Trust 's grand opening on Thursday with 200+ cookies—
fully prepared to leave with at least some of them.

However… not a single survivor. Not even a crumb made it back to Kitchen à la Badger.
They were an absolute hit 🥰🍪

At one point I heard, “That’s her! That’s the Honey Badger!” shouted across the lobby,
and I am now also referred to as “the cookie lady.”

I’ll take it. I’ll take them both.
Gift-wrap ’em and slap a ribbon on.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, tried something, chatted, or just shared a smile.
This little apothecary dream keeps growing in the sweetest ways.

closing in on one month…
and I’ve been leaving my pawprints all around town 🐾

my love of baking has wiggled its way into the mix,
and it’s made me realize there’s a whole layer of this that I didn’t see at the beginning.

turns out comfort doesn’t live in one place 🍯

it’s been a lot of experimenting, sharing, and trusting the process—
but seeing people actually use and love what I’m making?

yeah… that part feels really good.

and helping others heal… has a way of healing me too.

I love this slightly roundabout way Honey Badger Apothecary teamed up with my baking passion and morphed into this cozy little powerhouse of “feel better” energy—
and I’m rolling with it.

Also, this basket? Gifted by one of my favorite people… and apparently the exact thing I was missing.

I feel very Little Red Riding Hood—
but Red has Granny’s hobbies, there are fewer wolves, and definitely more cookies 🍪✨️

P.S. Who knew quirky cookie creations would be my calling?

The Flower / Orchid Mantis, or Hymenopus coronatus (☝️🤓), is a rare and highly specialized predator native to Southeast Asia.

They aren’t dangerous to humans… but don’t let the petals fool you 😏

This underestimated floral trickster lures in nectar-hungry pollinators, then strikes when they get too close (nom, nom, nom).

Flower mantises are considered one of the most “unreal” insects (😎🤙) thanks to their striking, petal-like beauty—

heading out to wander, forage for new ideas, new ingredients, and a little inspiration—
maybe even take some advice from one of my favorite hoomans (uniquely wise, that one) and
“take a trip to the woods, go talk to a tree, and make friends with it.”
