DID YOU KNOW THERE CAN BE GOOD STRESS AND BAD STRESS?
When most of us hear the word stress, we think of the negative kind—work pressure, financial worries, family problems, fear, or constantly feeling like we're in fight-or-flight mode.
I know that kind of stress well. I spent much of my adult life living with far too much of it.
But I’ve learned something interesting:
Not all stress on the body is necessarily bad.
Certain short-term challenges can encourage the body to adapt and become more resilient. The key difference is that these challenges are temporary and are followed by recovery.
Some examples can include:
🌿 Exercise and physical activity
🌿 Short periods of fasting, when appropriate for you
🌿 Eating a variety of plant foods
🌿 Brief, appropriate exposure to heat or cold
🌿 Learning something new or challenging your brain
🌿 Stepping outside your comfort zone
The goal isn't to eliminate every bit of stress from life. That's impossible. For me, it has become about reducing the chronic stress I can control while intentionally doing things that challenge my body and mind in healthy ways.
After spending so many years surrounded by stress, I appreciate peace differently now.
Today I'm focused on taking care of myself, continuing to grow, working toward retirement, and building a future filled with plans and dreams. ❤️
Starting my business has become another part of that journey—not because success is guaranteed, but because I'm willing to learn, work, and build toward something I want for my future.
We can't change every stressful situation life gives us, but we can change how we choose to move forward. 🌿
