We’ve been a little quiet over here. 😶

We’ve been navigating some big changes in our lives…

We’ve recently acquired a number of new pets, spent a magical three weeks in Europe at the end of the summer, and are settling back into the school year.

But also this summer…I (Dimity) made a big decision to dive back into education work at an organization that is near and dear to my heart in a role that is incredibly exciting for me!

Meanwhile, Nolan is working on some new projects too and we’ve got a lot going on at home (back to those new animals…).

All that has left us at a bit of a loss for how to hold onto the work we’ve done here, and so we’ve been quiet while processing how to move forward. While we’ve loved this work and getting to share our passion with you on this platform, we want to remain authentic to ourselves and to you, avoid burnout and maintain that sweet life balance, and make space to be fully present for the shifts.

And so, with that, we will likely continue to be quiet for some time. This page will remain here as a resource for you, and when we feel called to share regularly again, you can be sure we’ll pop back on with lunchbox inspo, meal prep ideas, home workouts, and more.

For now, THANK YOU from bottom of our hearts for your support here and offline. We are so grateful for our community and your support! 🙏❤️

It’s time to double-down on self-care, friends. 👊👊

When the world (the greater world or your personal world) feels heavy, we need to care for ourselves so that we can have the strength to handle it. 💪

Self-care for me right now looks like unstructured time with my family, reading, soaking up some sun, and being in nature. 🌊🍃

What are you doing to take care of yourself today? Let us know in the comments below. 👇

Do you allow yourself to receive self-care? 🤔

For me, self-care is a daily practice. That means, every day, I do something to nourish my mind and/or body. It’s usually something that helps me feel calm, grounded, and/or joyful.

How that looks is often the same (usually my morning ritual), but sometimes it morphs.

This week, I was desperately craving an up level to my daily self-care practice.

As parents, it can be hard to allow ourselves to receive more.

We might feel guilty for taking time or spending money. Those two valuable resources are for our family, right?

Yes, AND, you deserve it too. In order to be the parent we want to be - our best self - we have to probably care for ourselves.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant. But it can feel good and it’s ok if it feels a little extra!

Here’s what that little extra looked like for me this week (on top of my usual self-care practice):

✨ Solo city day to see friends
✨ Afternoons spent gardening
✨ Manicure and pedicure
✨ In-person yoga class
✨ Sunset walk with one of my faves

Summer can be tough on your health goals. 😎

As we skip through this fun-filled season, we convince ourselves that things will slow down by August…but they only pick up. It's back to school (or work), apple and pumpkin picking, beautiful fall evenings, and before we know it it's the holidays. EEK! 😱

It seems unfair that we're told to prepare our bodies for this season all spring (which we don't buy into, btw), and then summer comes around and wreaks havoc on our health goals well into the fall.

But it doesn't have to!

If you want to approach summer a little differently this year and maintain your health or fitness routine, here are 5 questions to ask yourself to help you get there:

1️⃣ 5 months from now, how do I want to feel?

2️⃣ What daily actions do I need to take to ensure this?

3️⃣ What challenges might come up for me between now and then?

4️⃣ How can I ask for support/set up my environment to manage these challenges?

5️⃣ Who can I recruit as an accountability buddy (partner, friend, kids, etc.)?

We’d love to hear your responses! DM us your responses (if you dare 😉) so we can cheer you on! 👏

⚠️ This is NOT a weight loss post. This is a post about learning to love and listen to my body.

I was recently sorting photos from college, and I came across the third photo from my semester abroad in Prague (with my gorgeous big sis circa 2004!), and it nearly knocked me over.

I remember this time so clearly. It was one of the best 6 months of my life. I traveled constantly, made an amazing group of friends, and learned a lot (including a new language!).

But I also drank too much, sacrificed sleep regularly, and had a poor vegetarian diet, which was tricky in Prague at that time - lots of smazeny syr sandwiches (deep-fried cheese).

You’re probably thinking, “classic college stuff,” and it was; but it was also:

⚪️ a mask for my insecurities
⚪️ a lack of self-awareness
⚪️ avoidance behavior

I can’t regret or lament what I didn’t know then, but I can reflect and acknowledge where I am in my life now.

When I was younger, I almost never put my body first because I was so disconnected from it. Efforts to improve my physical appearance were purely for approval - not for me, and when I got to a point where I was so uncomfortable with my body, I just numbed it out with alcohol and a blasé attitude.

I’m so grateful for where I am now and all the chapters that brought me here. More and more, I’m able to look back at this version of Dimity with love and compassion instead of cringing. More reflections from this time to come soon!

I did something big…😱

I wrote an eBook…and it’s live! 🎉 [TL;DR head to the link in bio to get the full copy or 1 week for free!]

There is so much to say about this process…it’s been a huge learning experience for me and an exercise is creativity, time management, focus, and so much more.

But for now, I’ll say this:

A huge part of why I shifted into health coaching this past year was to support others in embracing tools, like meal prep, to simultaneously simplify and enhance their lives. We didn’t always know how to do this, and once we learned it changed everything.

My desire is that this little book will bring you a whole lotta value and inspiration in terms of how you plan and prepare for your weekly meals.

IT INCLUDES
✨ a list of pantry essentials
✨ simple breakfast recipes to rotate or eat daily
✨ lunch “formulas” and storage sticks to upgrade leftovers
✨ meal prep tips for every meal
✨ 4 weeks of pre-planned dinner recipes
✨ weekly shopping lists
✨ weekly prep lists
✨ snack recipes and ideas
✨ AND SO MUCH MORE!

Today and tomorrow, I’m offering a 15% discount (use code LAUNCHDAY) to celebrate!

I hope you love it, and I can’t wait to hear what you think. 💖

I did a thing… (and it’s almost ready for you!). Full story below! 👇

[TL;DR ➡️ I wrote an ebook with a four-week meal plan for dinners and so much more! Link for waitlist in bio.]

After we had our first son, our eating habits went downhill. Breakfast was eaten in a rush over the sink of on the go. Lunches were often my kid’s leftovers. Dinners were poorly planned and often similar.

I knew my body wasn’t happy because I was stressed out, breaking out, and exhausted all the time. To top it off, I was nursing and eating up a storm!

I knew something needed to change.

So, I started meal planning. Each week, Nolan and I would sit down and decide what we wanted to eat for the week. Then we’d make a shopping list based on our plan, block off a few hours for meal prep on the weekend, and suddenly life got so much easier.

I felt better, we ate better, weekdays felt less stressful. It was a life changer. 😅

At first, it took us time to plan things out and do all the prep, but once we got into the swing of things, we could throw together a plan in under 15 minutes and prep in 1-2 hours.

I know we aren’t the only ones who’ve struggled with this, which is why I wanted to create a resource for other families (and anyone who wants meal prep/planning support!) who needed it.

So I did! I wrote my first ebook! And now, with incredible support from the best .in.sandiego , it will be ready to go out into the world on June 1! 💃

If you can relate, head to the link in my bio to get on the waitlist so you’ll be the first to know when it’s live. 🤗

In our house leftovers have a unique purpose - they’re usually a key ingredient for tomorrow night’s dinner.

Leftover salmon pasta is one of our favorites. When we make salmon, we intentionally make double so that we can flake the leftovers and create this simple, creamy pasta dish the next day.

INGREDIENTS
✔️1 box pasta
✔️1/2 - 1 lb leftover cooked salmon, flaked
✔️1 cup of frozen or fresh veggies (we like frozen peas or chopped spinach)
✔️1/3 cup of heavy cream or cashew cream (google it!)
✔️juice and zest of 1 or 2 lemons
✔️salt and pepper to taste
✔️optional: parmesan cheese

STEPS
1️⃣ Cook the pasta to just al dente and reserve a cup of the water.
2️⃣ Heat the cream in a large sauté pan. Add the vegetables, the flaked salmon, the lemon juice, zest, and the salt and pepper to taste and heat everything through. Add the cooked pasta and if you’re using Parmesan cheese, you can add it in now. If you want to thin out the sauce, you can add some reserved pasta water.
3️⃣ Mix everything well and adjust the salt and pepper to taste.
