I want to tell you everything about my case. Like… blow it wide open. But I can’t right now because it’s still ongoing, and it’s driving me crazy staying quiet.

What I can say is this: the Amendments are federal law, the supreme law of the United States, and it matters that we stand up to the system when those rights are ignored, even if it costs us right now. I’m pushing through this not just for my daughter and I, but because I want to get to the other side and help other people who end up trapped in the same kind of nightmare.

Right now we are short 10k to get through what’s next
Legal fees
Filings
Prep time
Everything it takes to fight this properly
We need help now

I’m taking a moment to formally thank everyone who has written and submitted letters of support for my case. I am truly grateful for every message, every signature, and every kind word. Your support means more than you know.

If anyone else would like to write a letter of support, we would be grateful. Please sign it, scan it, and email it to [email protected].

We’re 10,000 short in legal fees, and our next goal is 12,000. We are only just over 500 short of reaching that next goal. Any donation is appreciated whether it’s 10, 15, or 20. Every little bit counts, and it’s helping my daughter and I avoid taking on an overwhelming amount of debt.

Jodi, thank you so much for the Christmas cactus cuttings. It might seem like a small thing, but to a nature girl like me, it’s one of those little gestures that can genuinely change the whole day, especially when times are tough.

Moments like this make my daughter and I feel less alone. They remind us that we have a team behind us, and that love shows up in the simplest, most thoughtful ways. And honestly, it’s always been about the people here in the United States and the life my daughter and I have built here. It’s the little things people do that make you feel seen, supported, and loved.

Thank you for being one of those people, Jodi.

Hiring new lawyers has created a real shift in my case and for the first time in a long time, it feels like we might be seeing a little progress. It’s still early days, so I’m not going to share details yet, but I wanted to say this out loud because it matters. Something has changed, and it feels like a small turn in the right direction.

And I need you to know this part too. I wouldn’t even be able to say that without the public support that’s carried my daughter and I to this point. The crowdfunding, the shares, the messages, the people who donated when they didn’t have to, all of it has helped me get here. You helped me keep going long enough to reach this moment.

So today I’m just pausing to say thank you. Truly. I’m grateful beyond words, and I’ll keep you updated when I can.

When I’m stressed, the first thing that takes a massive back burner is my self care.

All I want is comfy clothes. I don’t really wear makeup as often. I don’t want to socialize. And I just feel my stomach squeezing constantly.

I hate these hearings. I hate this process. It makes me physically sick. The stress and strain it’s put on my daughter and I mentally can never be reversed.

This whole process is terribly unjust. Nobody should have to go through this when they’re already trying to do everything the lawful way, with due process. It’s unacceptable.

Tomorrow is our next master calendar hearing.
If you’ve been following our story, thank you for being here. Truly.

If you’re able to help, even in a small way, your support would mean the world to my daughter and I right now. We’re still about $10,000 away from what we need, and every share, prayer, and donation helps us keep going and keep fighting.

Gratitude feels bittersweet right now.

My family and I are under an immense amount of stress, and crowdfunding has genuinely been the only thing that’s kept us afloat. I’m grateful for every single cent you’ve given, because it’s helped me normalize our life just a little bit while I keep fighting to protect my daughter’s stability and routine.

Lately I’ve been forcing myself to write a gratitude list, even when it hurts. A few lines. A few small wins. A few affirmations I repeat on purpose. Not because it fixes anything overnight, but because in dark times, those positive words can be the handrail that helps you stay standing.

But we’re not out of the woods yet. We still have additional psychological assessments, court fees, and legal fees, and we’re short about $10,000. If I was at fault, I wouldn’t be asking. I’m asking because what happened to us was unlawful, and we’ve been pushed through a system that profits from families being helpless. We’re just a normal blue collar family trying to live our lives, and as a sober mom with an autistic child, I’m doing everything I can to keep giving my daughter the structure she needs to thrive.

If you can help, please donate to our GoFundMe and share this with someone who will understand. And please comment one thing you’re grateful for today, even if it’s small.

So here’s something I still can’t wrap my head around: I was detained by a private company, under an administration that pushed an illegal policy, and I was faced with immigrants with a lawful status people with the same paperwork as me working inside the system that was holding me.

I went to the CoreCivic job page and sure enough it’s right there. I DON’T NEED A GREEN CARD JUST A LAWFUL PRESENCE!!! So chances are I was standing in front of people with the same paperwork as me and there I was incarcerated. Same status totally different reality. Make that make sense.

I’m angry. It’s unjust. My daughter did not deserve this. If you can help, please donate to our GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/b869be8a8

Today I’m reading the notes the moms in the facility left with me before I left. They did not give me their names. They were too scared. But they asked me to tell their story, so I’m sharing their words today exactly as they were left with me.

If you are a mom who has lived this, or you know someone who has, you are not alone. I see you, and I’m going to keep speaking up until these stories are not buried.

They arrested my daughter and I even though we had a valid work permit and lawful presence because they said it didn’t protect us.

We were unlawfully detained. The ICWC vs Noem federal injunction thankfully saved us, and now we are not detainable or deportable because ICE had to respect their own policies. But we still have to go through removal proceedings now that we are in the process.

We need at least 50,000 to get through this. Our next goal is 12,000. Even 10, 15, or 20 dollars is more than enough. Every little bit counts. If you can donate or share, it truly helps.

Standing in an immigration detention facility and realizing a huge chunk of the staff are immigrants too was one of the most surreal parts of this whole nightmare.

Because the irony is violent: a private company gets paid to cage us, while hiring the very people the government is publicly trying to deport. The only difference between them and us is timing. They got their paperwork approved before the rules and enforcement shifted, and now they’re here working while we’re locked up.

This isn’t policy. It’s a travesty. And it’s happening to real human beings in real time.
