Your pelvic floor and your diaphragm are besties. đŤśđź
Did you know your pelvic floor and diaphragm work together every time you breathe?
Think of your diaphragm as the top of your core and your pelvic floor as the bottom. As you inhale, your diaphragm moves downwardâand your pelvic floor should respond by lengthening and relaxing. As you exhale, your diaphragm rises and your pelvic floor can gently recoil and activate.
This relationship is important for so much more than just breathing. đ¨
It can influence:
⨠Core stability
⨠Pressure management
⨠Bladder and bowel function
⨠Pelvic floor tension
⨠Exercise performance
⨠And even how you move throughout your day
So if youâre constantly âsucking in,â holding your breath, or gripping your pelvic floor, you may be making your core work harder instead of better.
Your pelvic floor isnât meant to be âonâ all the time.
Learning how to breathe with your pelvic floorânot against itâcan be a game changer. đ
