Twenty years ago, Pat Summitt became the first women’s college basketball coach to earn a $1 million salary.

It was a milestone that reflected her impact on the game and helped pave the way for the growth of women’s sports we see today.

Even during her own battle with Alzheimer’s, Pat Summitt’s focus remained on others. Her heart was set on supporting caregivers, the people who give so much of themselves while caring for loved ones every single day. She understood the emotional, physical and emotional challenges that come with caregiving, and her heart was dedicated to making sure caregivers are supported and appreciated.

Through Pat’s Gameplan, caregivers are empowered with resources, support, and recognition for the incredible role they play in the Alzheimer’s and dementia journey. Pat’s compassion, strength, and selflessness continue to inspire and uplift so many people every day.

“It’s a powerhouse, it’s a university that obviously Coach (Pat) Summitt built, and anybody that gets the opportunity, they would be chomping at the bit to get the job,” said Uzamere.
