Burnout can feel extra confusing in the summer because culturally we associate this season with freedom, energy, vacations, and happiness.

But many people feel more dysregulated during summer, not less.

More stimulation.
More schedule changes.
More expectations.
More pressure to enjoy yourself correctly.

If you’re exhausted right now, you are not failing summer.

Your nervous system may simply need gentleness more than performance.

Mother’s Day can feel like a sunbeam through stained glass for some people.
For others, it lands heavier. Quietly. In places no one else can see.

Today, I’m thinking about the ones carrying complicated grief beneath the pastel flowers and brunch photos. 🌿

The ones missing their mothers.
The mothers missing their children.
The women navigating infertility or pregnancy loss while trying to smile through another holiday.
The moms in the thick fog of postpartum depression wondering why joy feels so far away.
The stepmoms loving fiercely in spaces that don’t always acknowledge them.
The caregivers, the foster moms, the grandmothers raising grandchildren, the women who mother others while aching themselves.

You do not have to force gratitude, happiness, or celebration to make others comfortable today.

However this day feels for you, tender feelings are allowed here.
Grief and love often sit at the same table. So do hope and heartbreak.

Take gentle care of yourself today.
Small things count. A walk outside. A quiet prayer. Turning your phone off for a while. Letting yourself feel what’s true instead of what’s expected.

And if today feels more like a bruise than a bouquet, you are not alone. 🤍

Lately I’ve been returning to running, and it’s been… humbling.

Slower miles. Shorter distances. More walking than I’d like to admit.
But also? More noticing. More patience. More respect for where I actually am.

And it hit me — this is exactly what the therapeutic process can feel like.

Starting again doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’re listening. Adjusting. Choosing to keep going in a way that honors your current capacity.

In therapy, we don’t rush healing.
We build it — step by step, breath by breath, sometimes with long pauses in between.

If you’re in a season where things feel slower, heavier, or less “together” than before…
you’re not behind. You’re rebuilding. And that kind of work lasts. 🤍

That uneasy feeling isn’t always a warning sign.

Sometimes it’s just the discomfort of doing something new—setting a boundary, speaking honestly, or choosing not to overextend yourself.

Before you assume you’ve done something wrong, pause and ask: Did I actually go against my values… or just step outside of what’s familiar?

Growth can feel uncomfortable before it feels right. And that’s okay.

Therapy teaches you to notice patterns — not to judge them, but to change them.
It teaches you that burnout isn’t a badge of honor.
That emotions are information.
That healing is slow, layered, and deeply human.

Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t becoming stronger —
it’s becoming gentler with yourself.

Which one hits home for you?”

Attachment styles aren’t just childhood patterns — they influence how we connect in adult relationships. 💛

Understanding your attachment style can help you recognize patterns, communicate better, and build healthier connections. 💌

Which style feels most familiar to you? Or maybe a mix? Share your thoughts (or save this for later)!

Feeling stuck or uncertain about life can be uncomfortable — like you’re in-between chapters and the next one hasn’t written itself yet.

Being in this space isn’t failure. It’s often a sign you’re paying attention to your own path instead of just following the script.

Sometimes this season looks like:
- questioning what really matters to you
- grieving old plans that no longer fit
- experimenting with new ways of living or being
- learning how your values, energy, and emotions guide your choices

You don’t have to have it all figured out right now.
You’re allowed to take the next wise step, not the final one.

Clarity often grows from curiosity, not pressure.

What’s one small thing you can notice or try this week — just to see what it teaches you?

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” ✨

If this season feels dim, you’re not alone.
Hope doesn’t have to be loud to be real.

Holding space today—for joy, grief, and everything in between. 🤍🎄
