Having your mom as your birth partner 🥲💗
Often in this work I’m talking through choices about who you want in the room with you while you labor.
Evanna chose her mom (who drove fifteen hours to be with her!) to support her through the birth of her son. After a few extra days in the hospital on the front end of her experience, and a few weeks earlier than planned, Evanna was induced on a Thursday morning and had a baby in her arms twelve hours later.
Through this, she was incredibly resilient. She had a long journey to motherhood, so when it was finally time we celebrated with her in the way that women long before us have always done. Holding her steady while she bravely and joyfully brought her son into the world.
No matter who you choose, ultimately it should be people who make you feel safe, supported, and will support you wholeheartedly. Whether that’s your husband, mom, sister, doula, dad, best friend, or a mixture of all of us (hello, village!!) the right choice for you will be the one that fits your family best 💗
