Fighting for a Warrior

Fighting for a Warrior Fighting for a Warrior is for Justyn who is battling Melanoma. Justyn has Stage 4 Melanoma and is in the fight of his life. Thank you!

This page is to support him through prayers and good wishes! Fighting for a Warrior is a support page for Justyn. Justyn and Buckley are a couple who met and fell in love. Justyn had to go to Afghanistan and fought hard for our country. He came home and he and Buckley decided to start a family. In February 2010 Justyn and Buckley lost their first child, their daughter Tuscany. They brought home th

eir second child, Gianni, March 2011. Justyn found out he had Melanoma in June 2010. Since then he has had 3 surgeries, 2 rounds of chemo-therapy, and many radiation treatments. Despite these vigorous treatments, Justyn’s cancer has returned. Unfortunately, this time it was found on his lungs, and is inoperable. His doctors are hopeful that a new cutting-edge cancer treatment will attack the tumors, and give Justyn more time if not a life-time with his family. The cost for his treatments amount to $2500 a month, and his family is unable to keep up financially. Update 3/5/13 - Justyn is no longer receiving this treatment as it has stopped working, he is not admitted to the hospital, getting an aggressive treatment. Buckley and Gianni have to stay in Los Angeles to be near Justyn, and so will need even more financial help at this time. Update: 5/7/13 - Justyn will return for treatments later this week. He and Buckley are in need of financial help at this time. update 7/17/13 - Justyn just finished his last treatment and will be waiting to see what the next steps are. He and his family had to move suddenly and are now in need of financial help. What we will be doing on this page is supporting Justyn through prayer, words of encouragement, love and support. We will advertise specific fundraisers as they arise, and we hope to host some larger events that we will let you know about. This is also going to be a place where we update everyone about Justyn's progress and how he is doing. This will be our main page for this. If you are interested in getting involved with the organizing of the fundraisers, please PM the Warrior page. Many people have asked us what they can do to help Justyn and Buckley. One thing you can do is send a donation to: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=KDMPR3DGJPGYL

It goes directly into a bank account set up by the family, which they are using to pay for his treatment with. If you would like to send them your donation or gift directly:

send e-gift cards to Buckley via her email
[email protected]

You also can donate directly to his hospital (University of California Irvine) directly. To donate to the hospital (largest bill) send payments to:
Installment Department

**MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE:

In a groundbreaking development, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a novel cancer therapy that uses focused sound waves to target tumors, offering an alternative to traditional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. This approach, sometimes referred to as high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), harnesses the energy of sound waves to destroy cancerous tissue with precision while sparing surrounding healthy cells.

During treatment, ultrasound waves are carefully directed at the tumor, generating heat and mechanical forces that disrupt the cancer cells’ structure. The process can trigger cell death, reduce tumor size, and in some cases, stimulate the body’s immune response against remaining cancer cells. Unlike conventional therapies, sound wave treatment is non invasive, which means no incisions, less risk of infection, and often shorter recovery times for patients.

Clinical studies have demonstrated promising results for certain types of tumors, including prostate, liver, pancreatic, and breast cancers. Patients experienced tumor reduction and improved outcomes without many of the side effects commonly associated with chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Researchers believe that this technology may expand to other cancers in the future as devices and techniques continue to improve.

Experts note that while sound wave therapy does not replace all standard treatments yet, it represents a major advancement in non invasive oncology care. Ongoing research aims to refine targeting methods, optimize treatment protocols, and evaluate long term effectiveness and safety.

This FDA approval highlights the growing potential of innovative technologies to provide safer, more precise cancer therapies with fewer side effects.

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and share a quick update.

My name is Justyn and I was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma at 30 years old. I had a skin colored bump, that I went into have looked at “just incase”. This visit turned into the biggest battle of my life.

Some friends started this page to give my family and I support during my battle. I was stage 4, and at that time there weren’t many success stories being shared. Due to this page we were connected with a few survivors and their stories gave us much needed hope. I can’t tell you how much their stories helped and gave me the strength to continue my battle.

We were constantly looking for strength, and strength came in another form. My wife learned that a local chapel had been credited with multiple people being cured of their cancer. The chapel is located at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, a place that we already loved visiting. However we discovered that there was a statue and a small chapel, that cancer patients had been visiting for years. The chapel is for St. Peregrine, the patron saint of cancer. There is a book in the chapel, where you can write your intentions or loved ones names. Shortly after writing my name in the book, my treatment began to work🙏🏻

I will forever be a cancer patient, but for now I am NED. I promised that if I was blessed enough to get to this point, that I would share my story. I want to pass forward the hope that we received. We also regularly visit the chapel and add names to the book, for those who can’t visit themselves.

I am always available via messaging to discuss treatments etc… and happy to write your name or loved ones names in the book at the St. Peregrine Chapel❤️

We will continue to share positive news. Never listen to the percents (%)

UC Irvine scientists have identified a class of drug compounds that block the growth of blood vessels in both tumors and skin tissue. The findings offer new hope for patients with melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, and common vascular skin disorders such as rosacea.

This research was funded by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases, both part of the federal National Institutes of Health (NIH).

A new generation of blood tests could detect the return of cancer months before anything shows up on a traditional scan.

By analyzing fragments of cancer DNA in the blood, these circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) tests could help doctors fine-tune treatment plans in real time. But despite their promise, experts caution: does earlier detection always lead to better outcomes?

We figured today was a great day to share an update about Justyn, since it is May 1st... the first day of Melanoma May.

Justyn had his annual cancer scans earlier this week & thankfully they were good🙏🏻🙌🏻

As all of you that have been touched by cancer know, the weeks leading up to scans are so stressful for the entire family. We are still unwinding but so so thankful. We truly believe that we would not be here without all of your prayers & support.

We try to pay the prayers & support forward every chance that we can. There were very few success stories when Justyn was diagnosed, but he had a few very special people reach out to him. This gave us so much hope & strength. We hope that by continuing to share Justyn's story, that he can inspire someone to keep fighting and believing too🖤🖤

As some of you know our son Gianni runs a yard greeting business. He gets to help people celebrate special events, but he also has gotten to support people battling illness amongst other "big" life events.

Recently Gianni got to put up a sign to cheer on a young boy in our neighborhood just starting his cancer battle and chemo. His name is Aiden & we thought it would be great if you could all keep him in your prayers, good thoughts...

When Justyn was battling it felt so comforting to know that he had an Army supporting him.

Whenever possible we want to help provide this for others... especially this brave warrior Aiden💪🏻❤️

Aiden and his family will be seeing this post, so send lots of love in the comments❤️❤️❤️

We have a family friend whose son is currently going through chemo & struggling to eat.

Do any of the warriors or caregivers on this page have any suggestions?

Thank you for your help🖤
