Corona beans are amongst my absolute favorites for salad meals. Large and meaty, they hold their own on the plate.

What’s your favorite bean?

While we are a veg-forward house, I am implementing more protein dense meat-free meals in the rotation.

Deborah Madison is a consistent veggie guide - I may still have 3 of her cookbooks in our shelf.

Soy braised tofu with a side of broccoli is tonight’s dinner plan. What’s yours?

Self-care frequently gets misunderstood.

At its core, self-care is self-awareness - a practice of noticing when we’re out of balance, then choosing to take action to regulate and return to center. Sometimes that support comes from outside of us, but most often it begins within.

Because it doesn’t take much for things to tip. The noise builds, the weight settles in, and the constant pull of it all can start to feel like too much. And yes - I feel it too - the frustration, the anger, the deep disenchantment.

And still - I return.

To breath. To body. To the ground beneath my feet.

Not to bypass what’s happening, but to stay connected within it.

I’m not a fan of looking back with “what-if’s” or self-flagellation about things that didn’t work out as expected.

I do, however, think it is beneficial to look back, witness our path and choices, to reflect, and return our gaze forward with refreshed vision.

Recently, I’ve been writing about planting a little garden, food as inspiration and nourishment, lymphatic wellness practices, movement, rebounding and other delicious topics. All things near-and-dear to my heart.

Then today, these images popped up in my memories.

With the onset of the pandemic, my professional and personal life shifted quickly (as did all of ours, albeit differently). I genuinely miss being a sole-practitioner.

I am living my best life now as a SAHGrandma, surrounded by loved ones, creating a new adventure together.

Dessert is life - sometimes that means savoring a cup of tea or biting into a juicy clementine, but other times it's about indulging in sweet baked goods. pistachio cake mix sparked the idea for an upside-down cake, and sweet cherries brought it all together. Now, tea's on and this treat awaits 😋
