Talk About Mental Health is a project started by six girls initially for a HOSA competition. Now, we have created a movement. Our goal is to educate, inform, and inspire. We want to better our community, country, and world! Mental health does not receive the recognition is should, and we need YOUR help to get the word out! Start a conversation about mental health today, and help us stop the stigma! NOTE: WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND CANNOT GIVE MEDICAL ADVICE.

Do you know the warning signs of su***de? We do! Here are just a few:
Reckless behavior
Talking about su***de/death
Giving away personal items
Anxiety
Feeling hopeless
Increased substance use (drugs/alcohol)
Sleep pattern changes
Withdrawal
Mood swings
If you notice any of these signs in a loved one, don't be afraid to start a conversation! It could save a life!

Hi everybody! Just so you all know, it's su***de awareness week! Although it may feel like a hard or awkward subject to talk about, su***de is something that needs to be discussed more often. You never know when a simple "Are you okay?" will save a life. It's easy to believe that it isn't common, that nobody you know may have suicidal thoughts or have attempted su***de, but that's not true. Every forty seconds, someone in the world commits su***de, and there are even more su***de attempts. It's a very scary thing, but it's one that can maybe be prevented by starting a conversation and talking about it! Keep an eye out as we continue to post more information!

Hi everybody! Unfortunately, the girls of Talk About Mental Health did not make it on to the secondary round of competition. In all honesty, we were upset but there's still so much more to Talk About Mental Health than the HOSA competition! We girls fully intend to keep up with Talk About Mental Health and take this movement above and beyond what anyone is expecting! Thank you everyone for the amazing level of support with our competition and we are so excited for the teams who moved on! We are spending the day at Magic Kingdom tomorrow and are so excited to begin the newest venture of Talk About Mental Health! See everybody Monday!:)
