I want to take a moment to address a recent review and provide some additional context. First and foremost, I genuinely respect that everyone has their own opinions and values, especially when it comes to choosing natural and non-toxic skincare products. We are all on different journeys, and I appreciate that each person has their own standards and expectations.
One thing that can make shopping for skincare confusing is that terms such as natural, clean, and non-toxic are not strictly regulated in the cosmetics industry. Because of this, many companies—both large and small—use these terms in different ways. That can understandably create confusion for consumers who are simply trying to make the best choices for themselves and their families.
As a cosmetic formulator, I have dedicated countless hours to studying natural skincare ingredients, formulation safety, and product stability. My goal has always been to create products made with thoughtfully selected, naturally derived ingredients while avoiding unnecessary synthetic or harsh ingredients whenever possible. That doesn’t mean every ingredient is suitable for every individual, as anyone can have a sensitivity or allergy to a natural ingredient just as they can with a synthetic one. Skin is unique, and no product can guarantee compatibility for every person.
Transparency is something I value deeply. One concern mentioned was about my fragrances. While I cannot disclose the proprietary composition of the fragrance blends themselves, they are purchased from reputable cosmetic ingredient suppliers who specialize in products intended for cosmetic use. These suppliers perform the necessary safety testing and provide documentation to ensure their fragrance materials meet cosmetic safety standards. The natural fragrance blends I choose are derived from botanical sources such as essential oils and aromatic plant extracts, and I carefully select suppliers that align with my commitment to quality.
The term “cosmetic grade” is often misunderstood. It simply means an ingredient has been manufactured and tested to meet the standards required for use in cosmetic products. It does not mean lower quality or unsafe—in fact, it’s an important part of ensuring products are stable, effective, and safe for their intended use.
I understand that there is a great deal of information circulating online, particularly in social media groups and forums. While many of these communities are filled with well-intentioned people, not every claim shared is supported by cosmetic science or regulatory guidance. I always encourage everyone to research ingredients from reliable sources, ask questions, and make informed decisions based on evidence rather than fear.
Creating safe skincare involves much more than simply combining natural ingredients. Every formula must be properly balanced, preserved, and tested for stability so that it remains safe throughout its shelf life. These formulation practices exist to protect consumers, and they are something I take very seriously.
My commitment has always been to produce high-quality, handcrafted skincare with integrity, transparency, and care. I welcome respectful conversations and questions because I believe education benefits everyone. Thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business and trusts me with their skincare journey.
