Tomorrow could be harder than fifty miles.

Bulldog Ultra 50K.

Race #8.

Months ago this challenge felt intimidating.

Today it feels achievable.

Not because the race changed.

Because I changed.

Big Bear built resilience.

The Laguna Hills 5K reminded me to enjoy the process.

PCT 50 taught patience.

Topanga and Magu taught me how to climb.

Tomorrow I get to put all those lessons together.

Let’s see what the mountain has to teach me.

Everything this year has been leading to this moment.

Race #8.

The Bulldog Ultra 50K.

It isn’t my longest race.

The PCT 50 still holds that title.

But Bulldog might become my toughest challenge.

Steep climbs.

Relentless terrain.

Long hours.

At some point fitness stops being the deciding factor.

Mindset takes over.

Peak Life Fitness is about becoming the type of person who embraces difficult things.

The mountain is waiting.

Race #7 is complete.

And the biggest challenge still lies ahead.

Tough Mugu revealed a lot.

Some strengths.

Some weaknesses.

Some moments of doubt.

But it also gave me something important.

Belief.

Bulldog isn’t guaranteed.

It won’t be easy.

But now I believe it’s possible.

Sometimes that’s all we need.

Evidence that we’re capable.

One race remains.

Tomorrow is Race #7.

And honestly…

This is where the Bulldog Challenge starts to feel real.

I’ve completed Big Bear.

Finished the PCT 50.

Now it’s time for Tough Magu.

This race isn’t about speed.

It’s about patience.

Managing effort.

Fueling properly.

Staying mentally engaged when fatigue starts creeping in.

Because endurance racing rewards consistency.

And so does life.

Time to trust the process.

Race #6 is complete.

Tough Topanga was exactly what I needed.

Enough climbing to challenge me.

Enough technical terrain to keep me honest.

Enough discomfort to remind me that growth never really gets easier.

But now I know where my fitness stands.

And that’s valuable.

Because Topanga wasn’t the destination.

It was preparation.

Preparation for Tough Magu.

Preparation for Bulldog.

Preparation for becoming a stronger version of myself.

One down.

Two to go.

Tomorrow is Race 6.

Tough Topanga 15K.

After Spartan Big Bear, the Laguna Hills 5K, and the PCT 50, I finally get to focus on trail running again.

This race isn’t about a podium.

It’s about checking in.

How’s the fitness?

How’s the recovery?

How’s the mindset after fifty miles on the Pacific Crest Trail?

Every race gives feedback.

Tomorrow is Chapter One of the Bulldog Challenge Series.

Let’s see where I stand.

07/01/2026

Can three trail races make you stronger than one ultra?

Race #6 in my 2026 Race Series begins now.

After completing the Spartan Big Bear Trifecta, Laguna Hills 5K, and the PCT 50, I’m starting what I’m calling the Bulldog Challenge Series.

🏔 Tough Topanga 15K
🏔 Tough Magu 25K
🏔 Bulldog Ultra 50K

This first race isn’t about peaking.

It’s about building fitness, practicing climbing, dialing in nutrition, and continuing to develop the mindset that every challenge has something to teach us.

Peak Life Fitness isn’t about perfection.

It’s about continually seeking growth.

Follow along as we tackle Race #6 of 10.

06/27/2026

Fifty miles has a way of simplifying life.

One step.

Then another.

Then another.

The PCT 50 reminded me that our limits are usually much further away than we think.

That lesson applies far beyond running.

Fitness.

Business.

Relationships.

Life.

Growth often begins where comfort ends.

06/25/2026

Tomorrow I attempt fifty miles.

And honestly, that’s a little intimidating.

At some point during an ultra, your body starts negotiating.

Slow down.
Stop.
Quit.

That’s where mindset becomes everything.

The people who grow the most aren’t always the most talented.

They’re the ones who keep moving forward when things get uncomfortable.

Tomorrow we find out what happens.

Training for a 50-mile race is teaching me something important:

Consistency beats intensity.

Some days feel amazing.

Some days feel terrible.

The key is showing up regardless.

Most people underestimate what they can accomplish through a year of steady effort.

The PCT 50 isn’t really about running.

It’s about resilience.
