We Walk for HOPE

Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences for someone to endure. On June 2, 2017, the Webber Family faced this firsthand when their son, Garrett, lost his life due to a he**in overdose. Garrett was only 22 years old and was a young man with an “old soul”, known for his big heart, great wit, and love for authentic coffee and colorful tattoos. He aspired to be a welder one day, but lost his battle with addiction before being able to live out his dream.

Sadly, Garrett is just one of many who struggle with opioid addiction. As part of turning their pain into purpose, it is the Webber Family’s heartfelt desire to bless others who struggle with life-threatening addictions.

The first annual We Walk for HOPE 5k is a fun, non-timed event, open to people of all fitness levels. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Garrett Webber Memorial Scholarship Fund at Genesis Recovery to provide a scholarship for an individual to receive treatment. It’s the Webber Family’s HOPE that this opportunity will free addicts from the grip of addiction and spare other families from the pain of losing a loved one too soon.
