Pictured here is one of my favorite herbal allies, Red Rasberry leaf (Rubus idaeus). Keep your eyes open - You may see this plant growing in along pathways in your area!
Red raspberry leaf is native to Europe and parts of Asia and now grows widely across North America and other temperate regions. A member of the Rose family, red, raspberry thrive, and wall, drain soil in full sun, often found along for edges, fields, and road sides. The plant produces soft, green leaves and red berries, but it’s the leaves that are priced and herbal medicine.
Rich in vitamins and minerals, like iron, magnesium, and B vitamins, red raspberry leaf is known for supporting the female reproductive system, especially during pregnancy, menstruation and menopause.
Herbalist commonly used it as a uterine tonic to strengthen the uterus, ease, menstrual cramps, and support smooth labor. It’s typically consumed as a tea or infusion, offering, gentle yet effective nourishment and balance of the body.
