I need you to tell me that I am a girl"
Soft pastel and prismacolor on paper.
34"x 20", Life Drawing 1 final

( Ps. I'm totally fine and happy now lol, I just work through things through art.)

Poem to accompany the piece:

"I need you to tell me that I am a girl"

She started to suspect that something was off
When she looked in the mirror and her face looked wrong
I cannot be one of them she thought

But there was a pit in her gut
Like right before you throw up
She knew that she was about to errupt

She was dating someone at the time
A Christian boy who seemed alright
She knew she'd have to hide
The things going on inside
He wouldn't understand why she wanted to die

"I need you to tell me that I am a girl"
She told him this line
He was supposed to repeat to her when she was dying inside

But it never worked, it only passed time
Of the ticking clock of God's damnation divine

So she gritted her teeth and pushed me down
She wanted to be perfect for everyone else
She tried to kill me
In doing so killed herself

As I broke through her chest
The world held it's breath
Because for the first time in my life
I felt like myself
