General information
Our goal at Peacacre Farm is to live simply, to create a home filled with creativity and joy, to micro-farm in a way that honors the Earth, and to transform our one acre on the edge of a small town in Southwest Missouri into a place where children and animals can thrive. I have over 20 years of experience in growing, studying and working with herbs. I started making soap for my family because, as a committed animal rights advocate, I wanted to avoid purchasing any products that are tested on animals. I never really intended Peaceacre to become a real business, but it became one anyway in the spring of 2009, when I joined the 10th Street Community Farmer's Market in my home town of Lamar. I thought it would be kind of a summer thing, selling overflow produce from my family garden. I decided to fill space on my table with some of the soaps, balms and other herbal products that I was making for my family and friends, and as it turned out, it was those items that really took off. I built a base of loyal, repeat customers, and many of them began asking if they would be able to find my stuff once the market closed for the season. It made sense to me to heed that call, so I rented a small studio in a historic building on the Lamar town square. In addition to soaps and herbal stuff, I will also be offering animal friendly wool from my flock of fat and happy sheep. My girls live like queens! These sheep will never be sold, never be bred, never be eaten. No way, no how! Learn more about everything we do here at Peaceacre Farm by visiting our website at www.Peaceacre.com.
