Anam Cara Caregiving welcomes Linda Lindsey as our newest board member!
Linda first came to Lander in 1979 as a NOLS instructor and quickly developed a deep appreciation for both the community and the surrounding wilderness. After several years with NOLS, she moved to Colorado, where she worked as an emergency medical technician before earning her nursing degree. She spent a number of years as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse at the Children's Hospital in Denver before an opportunity brought her back to Lander in 1990.
Upon returning, Linda worked part-time at Lander Valley Medical Center and later joined NOLS as Human Resources and Diversity Director, a role she held until her retirement in 2019. Along the way, she served on numerous nonprofit and community boards, including the Lander Chamber of Commerce, Wilderness Medical Society, Leadership Wyoming, and the Lander Community Foundation.
Like many families, Linda has experienced the challenges of supporting aging parents from afar. That experience deepened her appreciation for the importance of compassionate home-based care that allows people to remain in the comfort of their homes and communities as they age and approach the end of life. She is honored to support Anam Cara's mission of bringing dignity, connection, and meaningful care to individuals and families during life's most tender transitions.
When she's not volunteering, Linda enjoys hiking, traveling, tackling wooden jigsaw puzzles, and staying engaged with the nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities across Wyoming.
