🐾 Partnership Highlight: Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center

We're excited to highlight our partnership with the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center, an organization dedicated to caring for homeless animals and helping them find loving homes.

Through this volunteer opportunity, the people we support help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for the animals while learning valuable skills and contributing to their community.

From organizing kennel supplies to supporting shelter operations, this experience helps build:
✔ Responsibility and workplace skills
✔ Confidence and independence
✔ Community connections
✔ A deeper understanding of animal welfare

This partnership is especially meaningful because many of the people we support have expressed a strong interest in working with animals. Volunteering at the shelter allows them to explore those interests while making a positive impact on the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in need.

We're grateful to the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center for welcoming us as part of their team and creating opportunities for meaningful community engagement.

💙 Families told us they wanted more opportunities to be involved. In response, we've launched our new Family Advisory Council, providing a dedicated space for families to share ideas, offer feedback, and help guide quality improvements across our services.

🤝 People we support shared that they feel respected, listened to, and included in decisions about their goals and services. We also heard a strong interest in more volunteer and employment opportunities, and we're actively helping individuals pursue those goals in their communities.

Thank you for partnering with us to build stronger, more person-centered services. Together, we're creating more opportunities for choice, independence, and community inclusion.

Safety starts with preparation. Yesterday, Officer Romano from the Montgomery County Police Department led an active shooter drill and emergency preparedness training for our team, helping us strengthen our readiness and response skills.
