Tired my hand on this delicious vegan dessert for Thanksgiving. Turned out really well. ๐Ÿช
A perfect pecan crumble base with soft and creamy Sweet Potato filling.๐Ÿฅ”
Had the most fun making my first American dessert. Also a new found love of baking.
This was adapted from Caitlin Shoemaker's youtube video.
I have mentioned the recipe and method seperately in the story,saves me space for the caption ,also looks presentable.

I have often seen people struggle with there body image. They fear to eat certain foods because they keep telling themselves about the ill-effects of that food.
But can't keep away from them.
So they feel guilty about eating.
Thereby attaching a negative emotion with the food, a feeling of aversion towards that emotion and getting more conscious of their bodies and a very fearsome relation with their food.

Can a relation be healthy, if there is aversion,fear,guilt and hate involved?
So how can your food get you healthy if you look at it with a negative emotion?

You are worthy of love. Develop the feelings of self-love.Love your body for what it is. Eat with an attitude of Gratitude. Thank the food" whatever it is" for being in your plate and for nourishing you.
Don't strive to lose weight. It does not define you. Strive for a healthy body. Change your perspective.

How to conserve nutrients while cooking??
Here are the three R's to follow.
Many time important nutrients are lost while we cook.
1. Reduce the amount of water so that the nutrients remian intact in the food and are not dissolved and lost in water during preparation.
2. Reduce the length of cooking period.Overcooking leads to breaking of the vitamin and mineral structure and hence loss of it.
3. Reduce the amount of surface exposed. While cutting vegetables ,finely chopped ones can lead to loss of nutrients as more area exposes more nutrients.Big pieces can ensure that they stay intact.

1tsp for Sea salt contains just the amount of sodium as 1tsp of regular salt.
It doesn't make a difference which one you go for. Ofcourse there are other trace minerals that can be found in the other salts. But if you're health conscious and someone has asked you to substitute your salt ,there is no need to go out of the way to get it .
Instead the drink more coconut water,have bananas,and leafy vegetables for good Potassium and other minerals and limit your salt intake.
