Over the last couple of days, seeing the messages, posts, photos, and support from the community has been humbling. When something that started with pain, purpose, and a simple belief begins bringing people together, it reminds you why this matters.

Thank you for believing in what we are building and for standing with us in the mission to remind others that they are not alone. πŸ™πŸ½

As we reflect on the first The Signal Run- You Are Not Alone, there are a lot of people to thank for helping bring this mission to life.

First, to my wife Erika Villanueva β€” thank you for believing in this mission, for standing beside me through every challenge, and for helping build what we are creating through the Awareness Warriors Foundation. None of this happens without you.

To Pete Saenz III of Bodify Functional Fitnessβ€” thank you for your friendship, partnership, and for always showing up. From training to events, your support means more than you know. A true Awareness Warrior.

A sincere thank you to Judge Joe Rathmell and the Zapata County Commissioners Court, Commissioner Jose A. β€œJoey” Solis, for believing in this mission and officially recognizing The Signal Run: You Are Not Alone Day through a county proclamation. That recognition means more than words can express.

Thank you to the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Ramon E. Montes , Ramon Arambula for helping ensure everyone stayed safe, Zapata County Constables of Precincts 1 & 4, Commissioner David Moya of Precinct 1, Jessica Hurtado for helping organize local vendors and rally Zapata community support, Judge Oscar R. Liendo, Luis Lopez of MyPop, L&F Distributors, Ricky Garza and Zapata Roadrunners Road Racing, Stripes 2197, and the VA Su***de Prevention Coordinator for supporting this movement.

To everyone who showed up, supported, volunteered, donated, walked, ran, carried a name, or believed in the mission β€” thank you for helping make this possible.

What happened in Zapata was bigger than a run. It was proof that people are willing to show up for one another, and that no one should ever have to fight alone.

Depression hates a moving target β€” and we are moving together.

Thank you Eugene Ruiz and everyone that has sent pictures. Please tag us on your posts and stories- love to hear the impact of your journey πŸ«‚

To say I couldn’t sleep the night before would be an understatement.

Yesterday, The Signal Run: You Are Not Alone became something bigger than I ever imagined.

At 2 a.m., standing at the start line and seeing people arrive for a 3 a.m. start β€” nearly 40 people ready to take on 32 miles and about 100 participants across all distances β€” it hit me that people weren’t showing up for a race. They were showing up for a reason.

Some came to prove something to themselves. Some came carrying the name of someone they love. Some came because they know what it feels like to struggle. Everyone carried a reason.

I carried a weighted vest and chain as a reminder of the weight so many silently carry. Somewhere along the way, the physical weight became emotional. Thinking about my mom, my brothers, family, sacrifice, grief, and everything people don’t always see.

At one point, running alongside Erika holding her hand, we both broke down crying β€” overwhelmed by what was happening around us. Not because it was hard physically, but because people believed in the message: no one should ever have to fight alone.

And maybe the biggest lesson for me was this: even carrying the weight, I realized I couldn’t do it alone. Erika carried the chain. Pete carried weight beside me. Others carried names, reasons, and each other.

The convergence may not have happened exactly how I imagined, but people still showed up for one another. And that matters more.

Seeing Vietnam veterans welcome us at the finish and lead the 1K Tribute Walk was something I’ll never forget. A generation too often forgotten β€” honored the way they deserved.

Depression hates a moving target. Yesterday, we moved together.

To everyone who showed up, supported, carried weight, carried names, volunteered, walked, ran, or simply believed in the mission β€” thank you.

This was never just a run.

🚨 1 DAY AND A WAKE UP. 🚨

The Signal Run is almost here β€” and this is bigger than miles. It’s about showing up, carrying a name, carrying a reason, and reminding people they are not alone.

Please take a moment to review the start times and distance information below so everyone arrives ready and on time. We want this to run smooth and strong from start to finish.

Whether you’re doing the 32 Mile Core, Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, or 1K Walk β€” we can’t wait to see you.

Want to support but not running? We’d love to see you out there. The route follows US Highway 83 from the Zapata/Webb County line south into Zapata, Texas, so anyone traveling through or wanting to support can cheer runners on along the route. Seeing support from the community means more than you know β€” a honk, a wave, words of encouragement, or simply showing up goes a long way.

This movement is about connection. Nobody moves alone.

THE SIGNAL RUN – 1K TRIBUTE WALK

For the generation that carried the weight in silence.

We invite our Vietnam-era veterans, veterans of all generations, families, friends, caregivers, and community members to join us for a very special part of The Signal Run β€” our 1K Tribute Walk.

Many answered the call when they were barely out of high school. They served, sacrificed, and carried burdens long after coming home. Some carried wounds we could see. Many carried wounds we could not.

This walk is for YOU.

Whether you walk with strength, with a cane, with a walker, or in a wheelchair β€” you belong here.

Bring your family. Bring your stories. Bring the names of those we carry with us.

Because this is bigger than a walk.

This is about showing our veterans β€” especially our Vietnam veterans β€” that:

You are seen.
You are valued.
You are not alone.

At The Signal Run, every distance has purpose, and we converge together. From the 32-mile core to the marathoners, runners, walkers, veterans, families, and community β€” we come together as one movement.

And when we arrive, we arrive together.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Join us for the 1K Tribute Walk and be part of the movement.
