I thought I'd share a couple new custom builds! The first is my British Bluesmaster 20 which has that JTM sound but with London Power Scaling (LPS) and the second is my Blonde 20 also with LPS. As time has gone on more and more of my builds are being fitted with LPS and it really makes the amp far more playable for people who want non-master volume amp sound but don't need excessive power and volume. Thanks for looking!

A bunch of new amps and repairs. The first is my Tweed Recording Pro in dark lacquer. It's become one my best selling amps and the new owner was very happy with it. I Next is another Blues Jr. turned into 5E3 Deluxe type circuit. It sound so much better. Next up is a 70's Sunn 1x18 cab I've been fixing up for a customer. It's a monster and the caster are definitely necessary! Lastly is Cornell 18 Watt Amp that came in with pretty loud hum as you turned up the volume. It turns out that the grounding with wired incorrectly. I'd imagine that most of these out there do this and need little help. Thanks for looking everyone and have great day!

A couple new builds! The first is a Reverb/Tremolo unit built into a cage head. The customer wanted a different look from the usual. The look kind of reminds me of those old tube Hi-fi mono blocks. The second is a Blues Jr. converted in a Tweed Deluxe circuit. The new owner is thrilled with it!

Here's my Tweed Stage Pro 20W (Twin/Bassman tones with Lond Power Scaling) and my Trem and Reverb unit. They went south to Mexico to a customer of mine who loves them. He ordered them with yellow pine and oak wood fronts which were lots of fun to make. Have a great weekend everyone and keep on pickin'!

This amp is so cool I had give it it's own post. It's Hiwatt style circuit inspired by Pete Townsend's custom built Hiwatts he used on stage with The Who. It more manageable 1x12 combo (rather than a stack. It has some mini-switches that let you tailor the gain and frequency response so you can get the sounds of lots of other HW models. It's also has London Power Scaling so normal humans an play it! Man is it loud, punchy and crunchy! The customer who got it loves it!

Happy New Year Everyone! I thought I'd show off a couple new builds. The first one is a Tweed Deluxe but with London Power Scaling so it can be played very quietly with the wattage ranging from 15W down to 1/10W. Adding the scaling to amp can be laborious but makes the amp far more useful. The next one is my Texas Tremolo amp which is make take on the Tweed Vibrolux.

A cool new and a repair. I thought you guys would like to see these. The first one is a 35 W Fender Blackface Vibrolux Reverb style head. It's got London Power scaling so you can get those cranked up sound at reasonable levels. It's really fun to play Freddie King licks though! It's got a matching 2x10 cab with Weber speakers and is done up in black lacquered tweed.
The repair is late 70's Marshall Master Volume 2x12 combo. This one came to me in bad shape. Someone had modified poorly it and could not figure out how to remove the board when they did it so they cut all the wire going to the tubes and used heat shrink to put them pack together! I rebuilt part of the amp and added a push pull gain mod. It need lots of work but when it was done it roars!

Happy Holidays everyone!

I've been busy! I thought I'd share some of amps I've been working on. The first two are a Classic Tweed Champ (think Eric Clapton's Laya) and a my Classic Tube Reverb unit. Those are up for sale and ready for new homes!

The seafoam green head is a 5F2A Tweed Princeton and sound fantastic. The customer who purchased it is playing is in wet/dry rig with an Octal Princeton. I wish I could hear that in person!

Thanks for looking!

Here's a cool new build. It's Blackface Bassman style circuit but 20W (still with 6L6GCs) in a cool 2x10 combo. In place of the bass channel is a microphone channel. The customer wanted to be able to take it along to small gigs without hauling a PA as well. It works really nicely! Thanks for looking everyone and have great day!

Here's a couple amps I've been working on. The first is my Tweed Recording Pro in green tolex. This one went out to Japan and the new owner is thrilled! That's the first amp I've sent to Japan. The second one is a real piece of history! It’s a Fender Champion 600 build between 1949 to 1953. The customer just sent in the chassis. When it came it still had a two prong power cord and sounded weak. The filter caps were old, the signal caps were leaking voltage and the resistors were measuring as high as 50% off the stated values. After getting those replaced it sound just as should. Thanks for looking and have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I thought I'd share this Tweed Recording Pro (TRP) with custom cosmetics. It went all the way to Norway and the customer loves it. For those unfamiliar the TRP has a Champ/Princeton circuit with tube swapping capabilities and London Power Scaling. It's one my favorite amp I build.

A couple mighty cool repairs. These two great British amps came in for repair; what joy it was to work on them. The first is a 70's Hiwatt DR504. Killer cleans and mean crunch when turned up! The caps were shot and someone tried to modify it into metal amp. It took some work but it now sounds and plays as it should. The second is a Park which for those of you who don't know they were made by Marshall and are essentially the same amps. It got the 2204 circuit but this odd ball had a different power transformer resulting in a smoother bluesier tone. The great 65W Celestions in there really rocked too. It need a need gain pot and some biasing. Thanks for looking!
