holds a special place in our hearts because it was one of the first cons we attended as Vanser Toys. We’ve met so many creatives that helped us along the way with so much insight to help us find our path at DCon. It made us realize the scope of how much passion and knowledge went into these works of art. We couldn’t help but feel inspired.

For DesignerCon to be the hub of making these kinds of interactions possible, we are truly thankful.

We’re “adults” and we collect/make designer toys. During our time, we’ve been shamed for collecting the things that we love.

“GROW UP.”

“TOYS ARE FOR KIDS.”

“YOU’RE BEING CHILDISH.”

“WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BUY TOYS?”

Let’s set the record straight. Designer Toys and Toys both serve their purposes in different ways to different audiences. If we are willing to keep an open mind, designer toys can be tools to bring joy and self-expression to not only artists, but those who collect them as well.

Designer Toys are serious works of art and there’s a reason they’ve gained a massive following throughout the years. The brilliance of today’s designer toy market is that it offers an incredible array of works at various price points, allowing many collectors to cultivate a community of those who appreciate art and want to preserve it for generations to come.

A little ramsey message to remind ourselves of the important things that we tend to forget from time to time.

Going through some setbacks, lifestyle changes, and some failed projects sometimes gets overwhelming and we start to question if we should keep this thing going.

Shifting our expectations to constantly grow our skills and expressing ourselves in our art is good enough of a goal.

A message to our future selves - stay relentless in your pursuit to improve creatively and keep doing it out of the love of the craft. Ramsey is pulling for you.

Life has a habit of dealing us with a range of blows that sometimes may shatter us, but nothing is ever truly broken.

Kintsugi, meaning golden joinery, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery that beautifies fractures with gold. As a philosophy, it treats breakage or repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. Kintsugi references the zen ideals of wabi-sabi, an embracing of the flawed or imperfect.

Pintado ramsey, pintado meaning painted one, is a special piece for us as we wanted to design a variant that not only connects us to our heritage, but honors the Filipino tattoo culture in our own way.

We learned a lot about the history of Filipino tattoos which gave us the knowledge to mix and match as well as create our own symbols while staying true to the craft.

Pintado ramsey is a one-off 6-inch custom designed 3d resin printed figure by Vanser Toys created exclusively for Filipino Show 3.0! It’ll be available this Saturday, August 13th, 8PM to 10PM EST via Facebook Live.

We’re honored to be a part of the Filipino Show 3.0 happening this Saturday, August 13th, 8PM to 10PM EST via Facebook Live.

Our submission for this show is pintado ramsey! Here are some renders of the 3d model for this custom piece.

We had a lot of fun designing and researching the tattoos we crafted for this variant. The horns showcase the tools we use such as the tips of a wacom stylus, pencil and spray can nozzles. The belly represents rice terraces and heavy bent rice stalks as it was the staple food that kept us full growing up.

More details coming soon about the full meanings behind the markings. 🙌

hello world, meet pintado ramsey! Pintado, meaning painted one, was used when the first Spaniard explorers arrived on the Philippines’ Visayan Islands in 1521 and encountered Filipino natives that were covered in tattoos. They mistakenly thought these designs were painted on.

This is a special piece for us as we wanted to design a variant that not only connects us to our heritage, but honors the Filipino tattoo culture in our own way. We learned a lot about the history of Filipino tattoos which gave us the knowledge to mix and match and create our own symbols while staying true to our own values. Did some research for a special piece we’re working on. We’ve been wanting to do a design that not only connects us to our Filipino heritage, but also encompasses who we are today. Learning about the history and meanings behind the symbology of Filipino tattoos is really interesting and gave us some inspiration for our first ramsey variant.

Special thanks to for doing the hard work of creating an amazing book that clearly details the history/meaning behind Filipino tattoos.
