Coach mentioned progressive overload in our last video, so here’s a little more about what it means.

Your body adapts to what you ask it to do. If you keep lifting the same weight for the same reps every workout, your body eventually has no reason to change.

Progressive overload simply means challenging yourself a little more over time.

Small improvements lead to big results.

You heard Coach mention progressive overload in yesterday’s video.

So what does it mean?

It’s simply challenging your muscles a little more over time.

That could mean:
✔️ Adding a little weight.
✔️ Doing an extra rep.
✔️ Improving your form.
✔️ Increasing the challenge gradually.

Your body adapts. If nothing changes, neither do your results.

đź’¬ Have you heard of progressive overload before?

It’s not reps or weight.

It’s both.

The right amount of weight and the right number of reps work together to help you build strength.

Too much weight can affect your form. Too little weight may not challenge your muscles enough.

The goal is to find the balance that challenges you while maintaining good technique.

Train with purpose. Progress over time.

đź’¬ Which do you focus on more, adding reps or adding weight?

If it’s been years since you’ve worked out, have patience with yourself.

You don’t need to jump right back into heavy weights or intense workouts.

Ease your way back in.

Start with bodyweight exercises. Do some squats. Get out and walk. Let your body adjust, then gradually build from there.

You don’t have to start where you used to be. Just start where you are. 💪

Yesterday Coach picked the squat as the #1 exercise every woman over 40 should master.

So what’s next?

Romanian deadlifts, or RDLs.

RDLs are great for strengthening your glutes, hamstrings, hips, and the muscles along the back of your body.

Master the movement first, then gradually increase the challenge as you get stronger. đź’Ş

What exercise do you think Coach picked next? đź‘€

If Coach could choose just one exercise, it would be the squat.

Why?

Because squats help build strength for everyday life.

Getting up from a chair. Picking up your grandkids. Climbing stairs. Staying independent as you age.

Start with good form. Master the movement. Then gradually increase the challenge as you get stronger.

Strong legs. Strong body. Strong future.

đź’¬ Is the squat one of your favorite exercises?

07/27/2026

If building strength is your goal, lift first.

Strength training requires energy and focus. If you do intense cardio first, you may not have enough left to get the most from your workout.

Cardio still has its place. Just make sure it supports your goal instead of working against it.

Train with purpose. Get better results.

đź’¬ Team cardio first or weights first?

07/26/2026

Absolutely.

Why is home any different than anywhere else?

Your muscles don’t know if you’re in a home gym or a commercial gym. They only know if they’re being challenged.

Bodyweight exercises are a great place to start. But if you never increase the challenge, your body has no reason to keep building strength.

Progress comes from gradually making your workouts more challenging over time.

đź’¬ Where do you work out most? Home or the gym?
