There are at least nine major pregnancy hotlines in America — Option Line, All-Options, the National Abortion Federation Hotline, Pregnancy Decision Line, 1-833-TLC-MAMA, Postpartum Support International, Planned Parenthood Chat/Text, Safe Haven for Newborns, plus dozens more at the state and denominational level. Each has a different funder, a different script, a different agenda. And every one of them, with a handful of exceptions, is built around a woman in her first anxious forty-eight hours picking up her phone and calling a stranger.
NumberBarn's 2026 US survey found 80% of Gen Z feel anxious when an unknown number calls, 77% let their phone ring hoping the caller will text, and 48% always or usually text before calling.
