March is Brain Injury Awareness Month!
🌟 The cover photo captures neurons in the brain communicating with each other! A traumatic brain injury (TBI) damages and destroys parts of your brain, but guess what? You can build new pathways around the damaged area. Sometimes, the "new" part of your brain works even better than the old part. It just takes a little time, and a little work and effort!
TBI-ID.com provides the information and Resources so you can learn what you can do - just spending a few minutes each day, while you're recuperating or just going about your day.
Why TBI-ID.com?
I founded TBI-ID.com in mid-January 2025 with the goal of working with attorneys and their clients to identify TBIs, like I had done for over 30 years (increasing the value of their PI case from 5 -6 figures, to 7 and 8-figures for their TBI. I thought my little 5-page website was just supposed to save time on the phone with them!) However, the Universe had other plans! In 2024 alone, 69 million people had a TBI, and statistics show that half of them didn't even know TBI was the cause of their symptoms!
My Journey
With my history of multiple TBIs and my experience rehabilitating myself while working in law firms and doing all of the self-rehab therapies I discovered, I know I need to share this information! TBIs can affect anyone, regardless of age, physical condition, or occupation. Whether you're a professional athlete like Patrick Mahomes, who sustained a TBI during the Super Bowl, a demolitions expert in the military, a construction worker, or a paralegal like me who got electrocuted by a VOIP phone at work, or while walking in my garage, TBIs can happen to anyone at any time.
The Ironic Twist
In January 2025, 2 weeks after I started this TBI website, I lost my balance after taking 3 steps in the garage and fell against the dryer trying to regain my balance. I didn't even recognize my symptoms as a NEW TBI at first! I thought I had triggered OLD TBI symptoms! Now, I'm working on TBI-ID.com 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week, coping with my own ongoing TBI challenges! Ironic, much?! I am definitely using as many rehab therapies as possible every day – especially COLOR THERAPY!!!!
Rehabilitation and Therapy
There are so many fascinating things we can do to rehabilitate a TBI:
• Cardio exercise from day one to get the blood flowing to the brain
• Color therapy, art, music, water exercises, massage, puzzles, games, journaling, laughing with friends, reading, learning something new, and many, many others
TBI-ID.com Resources
TBI-ID.com provides answers to your questions about causes, symptoms, how-to’s like prevention, therapy, self-rehab therapy, treatment, and much more. Our innovative and comprehensive TBI questionnaire is time-saving for healthcare providers, and less stressful for YOU!
Support and Community
People with TBIs often suffer in silence, not wanting to talk about their symptoms or ask for help. And friends and loved ones don’t want to say anything fearing it will just make matters worse! Our website offers so much, including HOPE and rehab therapies that will resonate with them, helping them start their journey to improvement quickly.
How You Can Help
BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS starts with each of us!!! And not just during the Month of March! We can each do our part to share information with others, whether it’s Prevention Tips, Support for Survivors, therapy to help heal and rehabilitate, or information to help Survivors cope and Hope!
REMEMBER: A TBI can happen to anyone, at any time, and it can happen in a few seconds without any accident, impact to the head, violence, or other physical trauma! 69,000,000+ TBI’s around the world in 2024! So....over 30 million have been walking around for the last year…not even knowing they have a TBI that is causing their symptoms!!!
Please share this post with everyone, and ask them to share with everyone they know, too. You don't know how many people are suffering in silence.
TBI-ID.com has 100’s of resources that may offer something, including HOPE and rehab therapy, that resonates with them. Improvement happens pretty quickly so you notice it and it will keep you motivated!!! AND, there are many PREVENTION tips, too!!!
Support Groups
There are at least seven TBI support groups on Facebook, with thousands of members sharing stories, success stories, and offering support. (one group has over 50K followers! And has been around for years)
Go Fund Me
I will be researching how to start a Go Fund Me page today. After my 40-year legal career ended in December 2019, then Covid in 2020- 2021, I began a telemarketing job in 2022, but had to quit in early January 2025 due to drastic changes in compensation for contractors. Since then, I've been working on TBI-ID.com so I can help others!
I plan to start a Go Fund Me to support our mission today, and reach out to corporations that offer TBI services or products to offer sponsorships on our website if they will support our mission.
Please share!
Sending a Huge Hug! Pass it on!!!
Empowered Together, with Hope,
Karen Renee Gomez
