Stripping the diagnostic static to find your native environment.
Years ago, when my reality first broke open, I was completely terrified. I was in and out of the hospital four times over two years, being handed heavy clinical labels—psychosis, bipolar, schizophrenia. On the fourth admission, I gave up hiding. I sat down with a new doctor and told him every "crazy" thing I was experiencing: hearing voices, feeling the universe pulling at me, talking to God.
And then he did something really weird. 🏥🩺
The Systems Diagnostic:
The Reality Mirror: He didn't call a crisis team. He just looked at me and said, "Lots of people navigate life talking to God, or the universe, or angels through prayer or belief. What you’re experiencing isn't weird—it’s just new to you. You just don't like what it's telling you right now, and you're upset about it."
The Compliance Metric: When a rigid system asks if you are "impaired," it’s usually just measuring your compliance to its internal logic. If you're a fish, the institutional framework doesn't ask how you thrive in water. It asks why you’re struggling to walk on the sidewalk, and then it diagnoses you with a "walking impairment."
The Hidden Motive: The system never stops to ask the underlying question: Impaired in order to do what? To fit a production line? To be predictable for an office built on zero-drift parameters? 📊🏭
The Manual Override:
The day I walked out of those doors was the last day I ever looked back. I realized the chaos wasn't happening to me; it was happening for me. You aren't a broken machine failing optimization metrics; your body is a living system learning how to swim in a deeper ocean. You aren't crazy. You might just be a fish that’s been sent to climbing school. Stop letting a ladder measure your capacity to swim. 🌊🔓
