Party Art by Joy Party Art by Joy will Tickle Your Fancy! I sell prints and original paintings, mostly watercolors on my website www.partyartbyjoy.com. I lived in Hawaii then.

My page offers a glimpse of my artwork and is a forum for discussion and discovery of my art. I fell in love with color when I was in 5th grade. A special art teacher taught us how to make images pop off the page by using wonderful color techniques. I didn’t start painting till many years later. Flowers abounded and they were perfect subjects for me. I was smitten and painted and painted

and painted. There were few art teachers on Oahu at the time, I learned from a kajillion books borrowed from the library, a wonderful portrait painter who agreed to teach me about color, composition, and seeing, a sensational watercolor workshop by Zoltan Szabo, and eventually a gifted watercolor artist who taught a weekly workshop to six of us who clamored for her knowledge and guidance. I’ve won a few awards for various paintings, had a few art shows, been commissioned to paint portraits, images for book covers, scenery for shows and and sold paintings, prints and greeting cards. I’m actually an entertainer and have spent my life performing—singing, acting, making people laugh and cry. But color glows in my soul and always finds a way to express the passion on paper.
