While doulas are often known for supporting moms during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, we don’t leave dads and partners out of the conversation. Their transition into parenthood matters too.

New fathers need:
✨ Encouragement
✨ Education
✨ Confidence
✨ Support
✨ A safe space to ask questions

From learning how to soothe a baby and support breastfeeding, to understanding postpartum recovery and finding ways to support their partner, dads deserve guidance too.

At Luxurious Doula Services, we believe birth and postpartum support is about strengthening the entire family. We support moms, but we also help fathers and partners feel informed, involved, and empowered in their role.

Because when moms are supported, families thrive.
And when dads are supported, families grow even stronger. 💗🦋

Sometimes support looks like:
✨ Feeding the baby so mom can rest.
✨ Folding laundry while wearing the baby.
✨ Cleaning the house without being asked.
✨ Preparing a meal after a long day.
✨ Showing up consistently, even when no one is watching.

In the postpartum season, one of the greatest gifts a partner can give is support.

When mothers are cared for, families thrive.
When fathers are involved, babies benefit.
When parents work together, everyone feels the difference. 💗

To the dads, partners, husbands, and father figures who are changing diapers, washing bottles, preparing meals, staying up for late-night feedings, and helping carry the load…

We see you. 👏🏽💙

Support isn’t just words.
It’s showing up every day.

Babywearing is more than convenience. It's connection.

For generations, Black families have carried their babies close through wraps, slings, and carriers, creating bonds rooted in love, protection, and community.

Babywearing can help:✨ Promote bonding✨ Support breastfeeding✨ Soothe and comfort baby✨ Encourage healthy attachment✨ Allow caregivers to stay connected while managing daily life

This upcoming week, we celebrate the beauty, strength, and traditions of Black families and the generations who carried before us.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the many families who nurture, love, and care for their babies.

Families come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and identities. They may also use different words to describe feeding their babies, including breastfeeding, nursing, chestfeeding, and other terms that feel right for them.

At La Leche League USA, our focus is supporting families in meeting their feeding goals with accurate information, compassionate peer support, and a welcoming community. Respecting the words people use for themselves helps more families feel seen, heard, and supported.

We are proud to support families from all walks of life during Pride Month and throughout the year!

Babies are miniature humans — and just like adults, they also get thirsty more often when it’s hot out!

If you and baby are spending more time outside this summer (and we hope you are), expect baby to nurse more often.

These extra feedings may be more “snack size” but their importance is huge! Babies are at more risk of getting dehydrated than adults are, especially young babies.

Here are some signs that baby is dehydrated that you should watch for:
☀️Sunken eyes
☀️Crying with little or no tears
☀️Fussiness
☀️Extra sleepy
☀️Cold or discolored hands and feet
☀️A sunken soft spot on the top of their head (for newborns)
☀️Doesn’t want to play (older babies and toddlers)
☀️A dry diaper for 6 hours or longer

It’s important for you to stay hydrated too, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Make sure to drink extra water to thirst, and make sure you’re offering baby plenty of opportunity to feed too.
