There’s a reason this is called “Granny’s Mother Oil.” 🌿✨

It’s more than just a recipe; it’s a powerhouse infusion that’s become the heartbeat of my skincare routine. We’ve taken the best of the earth—pine resin and a whole harvest of healing herbs—and slow-steeped them to perfection in both grapeseed and coconut oils.

Whether you’re soothing a little one or tending to your own tired skin, this “green bandage” oil is the secret ingredient for the deepest kind of moisture and repair.

Stay tuned, darlin’s—this is the magic base for the baby butt cream coming in the next video!

🌿 Meet Your Herb of the Week: Rosemary! 🌿
Did you know our favorite kitchen staple is actually going through an identity crisis? Let’s dive in! 🌊✨
**The Botanical Scoop:**
Rosemary is a tough, evergreen perennial that hails from the sunny Mediterranean. ☀️ While most of us grew up calling it *Rosmarinus officinalis*, science officially moved it into the **Salvia (Sage)** family back in 2017! 🧪🧬
**Why the change?**
DNA testing proved that Rosemary is actually a long-lost cousin of the Sage family. To keep things simple, scientists decided to fold it into the *Salvia* genus rather than renaming hundreds of other plants. We now call it *Salvia rosmarinus*. 🏷️🌿
**What’s in a name?**
The name comes from the Latin *ros marinus*—which means **"Dew of the Sea."** 🌊💧 It’s a perfect name for a plant that loves to soak up that salty, coastal air!
**Why we love it:**
✅ It’s incredibly resilient.
✅ It’s a literal "bee magnet" when it blooms.
✅ It’s packed with history and personality.
Stay tuned, darlin's—we’ve got more to share about this powerhouse herb all week long! 🐝💜

🌲✨ How to Extract Raw Pine Resin (The 48-Hour Method) ✨🌲

Forget the quick fixes—this is how you truly extract raw pine resin from scratch! 🪵👇

I harvested pure resin from local trees and packed wide-mouth jars to the top. 🌲 Because of the high resin-to-oil ratio, this was an epic 48-hour labor of love! ⏳🔥

🛠️ The Setup: Made a makeshift double boiler with a wide-mouth jar collar and a washcloth at the bottom of my pot to protect the glass from direct heat. 🫙🧼

🧪 The Mediums: I used grapeseed, vegetable, and coconut oil across different batches—but any carrier oil works! 🥥🌻🍇

🥄 The Grind: Stir and scrape the sticky resin off the inside walls every 15 to 30 minutes as it cooks down. 🕰️💪

🧐 Is It Done? When the oil hits maximum saturation and turns deep amber. 🍯 The leftover unrefined rosin binds into a thick mass that pulls apart like chewed bubble gum! 🧼🍬

🧼 The Finish: Double strained while piping hot through a metal strainer and cheesecloth to catch every last bit of forest dross. 🫗✨

The result? A potent, beautiful oil ready for the apothecary! 🌿🍯✨

💬 Drop a comment: Have you ever worked with raw pine resin? 👇🌲
