So sad to see this. Please be aware of your surroundings and drive safely. This could have been totally prevented if you err on the side of caution and safety.

Gwinnett police say a motorcyclist trying to pass a car in front of him was killed Saturday morning when he collided with another automobile.

The man -- Thomas Gerald Aldridge, 68, of Dacula -- was traveling near 2283 Buford Dam Road in Buford behind a car and a pickup truck, when the truck stopped to make a left turn.

According to Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department, the motorcycle passed the car, “clipping the left rear of the vehicle...then collided with the left side” of the pickup truck
