TEAM VPA is the first Worldwide all Vegan team on a mission to spread the Vegan message through endurance sports.

Formed in 2021, the team is comprised of everyone from beginner triathletes, runners, and cyclists to seasoned podium athletes.

In reality, I shouldn’t have even started this race. I was severely undertrained and an Ironman will expose that really quickly. But it’s all in the rearview now. Many lessons learned.

I did get that sub hour swim though.

Team VPA’s Jessica Jessica Eileen took on Squatchtoberfest — a rugged 13.1-mile mountain trail half marathon hosted by Sassquad Trail Running in Harriman State Park! 🏃‍♀️⛰️

Rocky trails, mountain climbs, and maybe a Sasquatch sighting or two? 👀 Bigfoot better watch out — Jessica’s on the move! 😂💚

Race day date weekend with Doug 💕
One mile out and one mile back, on repeat! Hit 100K or more and earn a buckle, and MAN, WHAT A BUCKLE! It opens up to hold a b**r bottle, but since I don’t drink, mine will be holding a nice, cold Topo Chico.
This was my first time truly self aiding a race, and I learned SO much about myself! Next time, the chair stays home because apparently, I’m a little too comfortable sitting down. I didn’t need to change my socks, shoes, or clothes, and I walked away with just one tiny blister on my toe!
I did call it at 100K. After last week’s multi day migraine, I didn’t think pushing into a second day of heat was the smartest choice. Sometimes knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing when to push.
Doug Cline had an AMAZING race, too! It was so much fun seeing him out on the course, hanging out between laps, and fueling with gummy worms and pretzel rolls. Getting to share this experience with him made it that much more special!
Another 100K in the books, a shiny new buckle, and SO many lessons learned!”

Way to go Ella!!! Congratulations on your PR. All that hard work is paying off. 🌱💪🏼🌱

Hi, friends. Popping in to share that I ran a PR on Saturday in lovely Bedford, Indiana at the Limestone Capitol Half Marathon. It was a well run event; this race featured Ainsley’s Angels (runners with physically or developmentally disabled people in racing chairs) at center stage at the start and it was quite moving to see everyone cheer for the racing teams. I was first in the moderately-aged women’s group which felt great. This was a tune-up race for me in preparation for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and I learned some lessons to apply there. The weather was picture perfect: 50F at the start, light breeze, sun the whole way. What a privilege to be able to challenge myself and represent veganism at the same time. Oh, and I did wear a couple temporary tattoos including sparkles across my face. I’m pretty sure that took a couple minutes off my time 🤩.

Running for a cause, giving it all for others... now that is what it is all about! Congratulations to Team VPA athlete Kevin and his daughter for running the Berlin Marathon and raising funds for cystic fibrosis a cause very dear to their hearts.

"We knocked out the 26.2 miles through Berlin and I was able to finish side by side with my daughter and supporting us from the side!

Together, we raised more than $8,000 for cystic fibrosis, and every dollar came from people who believed this was worth supporting. To everyone who donated, shared our story, sent us messages, wished us well, or simply followed along - thank you. None of this happens without you. Also a huge thanks to my friends at .vpa and

The miles were long, and we are sore. But that pales in comparison to what people living with cystic fibrosis face day after day. Treatments, medications, tests, blood draws, appointments, and challenges most of us will never fully understand."
