Led by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, this camp helps incoming kindergarteners develop the skills teachers value most through movement, play, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.

✏️💖 Girl Power Handwriting Camp = SUCCESS! 💖✏️

Our first handwriting camp of the summer was filled with confidence-building, skill-building, and FUN! Through the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum, campers practiced letter formation using wood pieces, putty, sandpaper letters, and handwriting activities while also strengthening the foundational skills needed for great handwriting.

As pediatric OTs, we don't just see movement as energy to manage—we see it as a powerful tool for learning and regulation. 💜

As this Occupational Therapist from Australia beautifully explains:

"When we allow children to move, we're teaching them different ways to use their body, and we're getting so much more feedback into our muscles and our joints. We're getting feedback into our body awareness. It's teaching parents to allow that movement to be and to be expressive... and to walk through the world, walking, twirling, dancing, jumping, half-wheeling, and that's okay."

Movement isn't just "getting the wiggles out." It's how children develop body awareness, build coordination, strengthen motor planning, and learn to regulate their emotions and attention. Every jump, spin, climb, and dance move provides valuable sensory feedback that helps them understand where their body is in space and how to interact with the world around them.

So the next time your child is twirling through the grocery store aisle, hopping instead of walking, or breaking into a spontaneous dance party, remember: they aren't just moving for the sake of moving—they may be learning, organizing, and regulating through movement.

We’re having so much fun helping our campers build strong handwriting, fine motor, and school-readiness skills this summer!

Each camper receives:
🎒 Their own personal fine motor toolbox filled with tools and activities to encourage carryover and practice at home
📝 A dry erase handwriting folder for continued practice between sessions
📚 Instruction using the Learning Without Tears® curriculum, a research-based program designed to make handwriting fun, developmentally appropriate, and successful for all learners

Throughout camp, we’re working on:
✨ Letter formation and handwriting
✨ Pencil grasp and control
✨ Fine motor strength
✨ Visual motor integration
✨ Name writing
✨ Pre-writing and writing skills
✨ Hand-eye coordination

We’re having so much fun helping our campers build strong handwriting, fine motor, and school-readiness skills this summer!

Each camper receives:
🎒 Their own personal fine motor toolbox filled with tools and activities to encourage carryover and practice at home including theraputty, squeeze happy face balls to work on pincer grasp, tripod grasp, and hand strength, pop up bracelets to work on finger isolation, bubbles to work on pincer grasp, small golf sized pencil to facilitate tripod grasp for children 6 and under, tripod pencil grips for ages and up, and a handwriting checklist bookmark!
📝 A dry erase handwriting folder for continued practice between sessions
📚 Instruction using the Learning Without Tears® curriculum, a research-based program designed to make handwriting fun, developmentally appropriate, and successful for all learners
