🎨🇺🇸 What a fun day at Community Safe Haven! 🇺🇸🎨

Our day started with Art Group, where participants worked hard assembling our 4th of July parade float! We can’t wait to share it with the community. Be sure to catch us at the Leesburg Independence Day Parade on July 4th—we’ll be gathering at 10:00 AM and would love to see some familiar faces cheering us on!

🐶 Next, we put our life skills to work by making homemade dog treats. From measuring ingredients to mixing and packaging, everyone had a great time creating something special for our furry friends.

🐍 And of course, there was a little excitement too! Kate had the opportunity to spend some time with a slithery friend and absolutely loved the experience.

Every day is filled with opportunities to learn, create, explore, and build confidence—and today was no exception!

💙 Happy Juneteenth, everyone! 💙

Today’s Fun Friday was one we won’t soon forget!

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Wreck It Rage Roomzfor welcoming Community Safe Haven with such open arms. Our participants had an absolute blast creating colorful splatter paint artwork, expressing themselves creatively, and enjoying a unique experience that brought so many smiles and laughs. We are incredibly grateful that they generously donated the entire experience to our group. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.

We would also like to thank 3.14 Pizza for donating a delicious lunch for our participants. Sharing a meal together after our adventure was the perfect way to end the day, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!

Days like today remind us how special our community truly is. When local businesses come together to support inclusion, friendship, and opportunities for adults with disabilities, amazing things happen.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today possible. We are beyond grateful for your generosity and your belief in our mission.

🌱🍽️ Yesterday’s cooking lesson was extra special because we got to use ingredients we grew ourselves!

Participants harvested fresh snap peas and Swiss chard right from our garden and turned them into a delicious chicken stir-fry. There is something truly rewarding about planting a seed, caring for it, harvesting it, and then enjoying it as part of a meal.

At Community Safe Haven, we believe some of the best learning happens through hands-on experiences. Gardening teaches responsibility, patience, healthy eating habits, and the important connection between where our food comes from and what ends up on our plates. We are so proud of our participants for all of their hard work in the garden and kitchen! 🌿💚

Today was a great day for street safety ! And no better time to pull out our program therapy dog! Fun fact: Hazel is used for immersion therapy for fear of dogs. Learning to overcome fears in a safe space is the way to do it!

We also used her for learning to stop at the corners and to look for cars.

Today was such a fun day! We celebrated max’s birthday by going to the leesburg fire hall museum and a fire tour! We then zoomed over to spankys for lunch!
On our way to the fire museum we also stopped and delivered the preorders of honey!
