It’s been one week since The Community Baby Shower, and holy cow- I am so grateful for the community we have in the LC Valley.

From all of the groups and providers that showed up as resources for our local families,
To the families who showed up to learn and spend time.

I'm so excited to bring together some of the incredible professionals who support families right here in the Lewis-Clark Valley.

Whether you're expecting, newly postpartum, planning for the future, or simply want to learn more about the resources available in our community, we'd love to see you tonight.

This week feels especially meaningful.

Five years ago this Wednesday, I received my radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer. At the time, my girls were only 4 and almost 2 years old. After two surgeries, I had to spend time isolated from Kyle and the girls while the treatment did its job. It was hard, but we were never alone. Our family, friends, and coworkers stepped in to care for us, love on our girls, and carry us through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.

The Lili Foundation didn’t exist then.

But it does now.

Without knowing what this Wednesday represents for me, Jen and Joel assigned me to provide snacks for Kids Club that day. It couldn’t have been more fitting.

Now, five years later, I get to be one of the people who shows up for families walking a road that feels all too familiar. Not because I know exactly what they’re going through, but because I remember what it meant when others showed up for us.

I’m alive. I’m well. And I don’t take that for granted.

What a beautiful way to mark five years since my treatment by paying forward the kindness that carried my own family. 🩵
