It has been an amazing 4 days assisting for CranioSacral Therapy level 1. Watching people develop new “feel” and exploring this modality is priceless. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of the journey. Thank you to all that made it possible! 🥰

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to help teach this class. I had to dig through all my corse materials over the years and found my original class study guide. It was from 2009! Back to basics! I love helping people feel on a whole new level ❤️

I have several people ask me why I bother to learn about shoeing. The horses foot is the foundation to the body. If you have unbalanced feet, you have an unbalanced body! The more you learn about the craft the more you can have conversations with other professionals for the greater good of the horse. Never stop learning…even if you won’t be the one doing the work 🐴

I get asked quite regularly what IS an osteopath and how do I know if my horse needs treatment?

As a Certified Equine Osteopath EDO we are taught to look at the horse as a whole. Evaluating the body’s skeletal, visceral(organs) and CranioSacral system.(brain and surrounding tissue)

I believe in having a team of qualified care givers working toward the same goal of helping the horse. (I will make a note here that I really enjoy working with open minded veterinarians!)

This horses journey started with me in July of 2021 (the second picture)
The owner was working with their local vet trying to manage the explosion of hives this horse had broken out with almost overnight. The steroids would help with the discomfort but it wouldn’t stay gone, and a soon as they wore off it would come right back.

In my evaluation I found spinal segments that innervate his hind gut, liver and spleen. I am a non vet osteopath so I suggested my vet that is really good at visceral osteopathy to help with this case.

One thing to consider here is the spleen is part of the lymphatic system. It stores and filters blood removing cellular waste. When each organ can’t do it’s job it puts more strain on other organs. The liver and kidneys rid the body of waste too. When these systems aren’t working properly it has to come out somewhere! In this case his skin!
This horse was seen twice with me and Dr Jammie in a 8 month period. We came up with a treatment plan and you can see in the last picture his hives haven’t come back! This last year I have been able to see him for continued care with on farm appointments 3x. His owner is very dedicated to do what’s best for him including an allergy panel and changing his supplements.

I hope this helps inspire some of you to keep digging! Keep asking questions. These things are symptoms to a ROOT cause 🙂
If you think your horse needs to see Dr Jammie and I together we have one day left this season to schedule. I will include the link in the comments.

I will be accepting new canine clients November 13th at Canine Design and Grooming Salon in Plymouth.

Scheduling details in the link below

Canine Osteopathy has been adapted from human osteopathic principles to the anatomy of the dog. An osteopathic treatment consists of evaluation and treatment of the three major systems of the body. Skeletal (bones and ligaments) Visceral (internal organs) CranioSacral (brain and surrounding tissues)
