Great news for the Midlands! 👏🏻

Good news for South Carolina!

The proposed $27 million cut to Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services was not included in the final state budget agreement.

HCBS helps thousands of South Carolinians with disabilities receive services and supports in their homes and communities.

We'll continue following the budget and sharing updates that matter to individuals with disabilities and their families.

This is encouraging news, but our work isn't finished. The Arc of South Carolina will continue advocating for strong Medicaid services, community supports, and opportunities for people with disabilities across our state.

🎆 TIPS for a Sensory-Friendly 4th of July🎆

Typical 4th of July celebrations can be sources of sensory overload for those with Autism or sensory processing difficulties, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Use the tips to help make this Independence Day enjoyable for the whole family. ❤️

DON’T STRESS!

Even if you use all the tips above, your child may still become overwhelmed and overstimulated. Try not to stress about it or let it ruin your day. Watching fireworks from the car, or heading home early and playing games can still result in a fun day for all!
