Today marks 12 years since I got my first kidney transplant.

Every year since my first transplant I have celebrated by posting + the number of years extra years of life the Lord has blessed me with.

Today I can thankfully say I will be moving the + to the other side.

12 bonus years + all the years to come.

Thanks to the selflessess of a donor, the hard work of the amazing people at the med center and the Lord's blessings,

I officially have a surgery date scheduled for a kidney transplant.

**November 12th at the Med Center.**

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY.

Hi everyone, I wanted to touch base with you and give you an update on my health and potential kidney transplant.

Its been a long and rough summer. I have been trying to get put on the transplant list all summer long and have had many setbacks.

Multiple procedures, health setbacks and insurance challenges have made getting on the list feel like a mission impossible.

In the middle of all that, my body decided it would be a good time to get shingles. That was the UGLY....

But as of this week, I can finally tell you that I am officially on the transplant list. The have listed me retroactively from the time I started dialysis last fall.

Now, it hasn't been all bad news.

In the spring the Lord brought forward a live donor. A young lady who felt the Lord's call to donate a kidney to me.

After days of testing, we found out she was not a direct match for me. But this did not deter her. She decided she wanted to participate in the kidney transplant paired exchange program.

The Kidney paired exchange is a system where an incompatible living donor and recipient are matched with other pairs to swap kidneys and achieve a compatible
transplant.

She came to the med center in the spring and has already donated her kidney. So theoretically the med center should be making me a priority to find me another live donor.

But again like I said, the health problems I had this summer had put that on hold. Until now.....All those hurdles have been conquered and we are hoping to find a live donor soon.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. I think I am starting to turn the corner on shingles. Everything is starting to heal. I'm not sure what was worse, the shingles or the medication I took to fight it.

I'm posting on behalf of Darrin since he's not feeling well. He has developed a case of shingles. Please pray that this would go away quickly and not get worse. It is painful. I'm thankful that I have this next week off to care for him. If you have a minute, he would love to hear from you. Praising God in the midst of the storm. -Heather

Good morning! I have a prayer request from all of you this morning. I have a new friend going into surgery this morning. Please pray the Lord will keep them safe and for a smooth recovery!

Also, thank you all for your continued prayers and support! THEY ARE WORKING!!! The Lord is providing and answering so many prayers right now. He is faithful!

Praise the Lord above for providing for our needs day by day!

I have another important procedure tomorrow on my road to a potential transplant. Please pray it goes well and yields good results..
