Labyrdial

Labyrdial A community project to create a place of Art, peace and meditation in our very own Sacajawea Park. This project is the brainchild of AJ Scaff & Hilary W.

Smith that will combine & consist of:
Science in the form of a sundial, compass directions, important calendar delineations and even the ability to measure the circumference of the Earth. Art in the form of sculpture designed & built by our local h.s. seniors on an annual basis. Which will create a annually revolving exhibit that teaches the students Life skills and what it takes to be an artist

going through an application & submission process. Also the local elementary children will design stencils to decorate the edges of the pool. Meditation in the form of a low profile stone labyrinth, a device for centuries used by many cultures in this way. They will be laid in the pattern of a rainbow on one half and the rising Sun on the other ending in a center sundial. In time we hope to have colored stones making the entire install that much more lively. This year we hope a few of the high schoolers will design and build some extra benches for more of the public to enjoy time at and around the LabyrDial. In time we may like to add a hedge or herb & shrub lined winding path from the nearby riverside street.
