Along with the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, we reaffirm that Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe to use during pregnancy. Decades of research show no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism in children.

To be clear, SMFM stands behind our recommendation that acetaminophen use during pregnancy has not been shown to cause or increase the risk of autism or other neurobehavioral problems in children.
