There are moments in life that are so much bigger than the thing itself… and this is one of those moments.
This weekend, we brought home a brand new van that will soon be converted to be fully accessible for Grace and her power chair. ❤️
To most people, it’s just a vehicle. To us, it’s freedom. It’s independence. It’s comfort. It’s peace of mind knowing she’ll have a safe, reliable way to get where she needs to go for many years to come.
This didn’t happen overnight. We’ve worked incredibly hard for years to improve our financial stability. I, at one point, for a couple years had 3 jobs and worked 6 days a week, then narrowed it down to 2 jobs days and nights for the last 4 years. Justin left a job of 13 years and jumped into something entirely new a few years back where he excelled quickly and worked so hard and made quality relationships with other department heads at MSU that his current job poached him and begged him to come work with them. So he did, then he kept training and working hard to learn and become better and climb the ladder to get to the fantastic job he has today.
We have made sacrifices, stayed focused on our goals, and kept pushing forward so we could give our daughter what she deserves. Every late night, all the long hours worked, every difficult decision, every leap of faith has led us here.
As parents, all we want is to make life a little easier and a little better for our kids. Knowing Grace will have a dependable, comfortable vehicle that accommodates her needs is something we’ve dreamed about for an extremely long time, and seeing that dream become reality is hard to put into words.
We’re beyond grateful, incredibly proud of how far we’ve come together, and so excited for all the adventures ahead. Here’s to many miles, countless memories, and giving our girl the freedom she deserves. 💜🚐
