Herbal medicine has been woven into healing traditions for centuries, long before modern wellness trends existed.

From mineral-rich nettles and grounding dandelion root to rose, lemon balm, and blue lotus, many herbs have traditionally been used to support nourishment, emotional balance, digestion, circulation, and overall well-being.

One of the things I love most about herbal medicine is the relationship between nature, rhythm, and the body.

There is so much wisdom in plants.

I love reminders because we can get so caught up in the rhythms of daily life, in the weight of the stress, and get lost in the chaos.

So I’m here providing little reminders to keep the flow going through all of it.

I’ve had several people express how hard times are emotionally and physically.

So here is a weekly reminder to take a moment for yourself.

Happy Tuesday.

Rest, nourishment, movement, breath, and connection to nature all influence how the body regulates and responds over time.

When these rhythms become disrupted through stress, overstimulation, irregular routines, or depletion, the body often begins to communicate through imbalance.

Sometimes healing is less about force…
and more about returning to rhythm.

Healing is rarely about just one thing.

This week’s focus has been centered around supporting the body through nervous system regulation, inflammation, hormonal balance, movement, nourishment, and recovery.

The body is constantly responding to stress, environment, lifestyle, and internal shifts, which is why support often needs to be approached from multiple angles.

Small, intentional forms of care can have a meaningful impact over time.

Pregnancy asks the body to hold so much at once.

It is one of the most physiologically demanding transitions the body can experience.

Beyond the visible changes, the body is constantly adapting through shifts in circulation, hormones, digestion, sleep, and nervous system regulation, all while supporting another life.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, pregnancy care focuses not only on the baby, but also on nourishing and supporting the mother throughout each phase of change.

Support during pregnancy isn’t just about symptom management.

It’s about helping the body adapt, regulate, and feel cared for during a deeply transformative time.

Pregnancy is not just a physical transformation,
it is a full-body transition.

Movement has become an important part of how I support my body.

As someone navigating autoimmune challenges, I’ve learned it’s not about pushing harder — it’s about moving in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.

Over time, consistent movement has helped support:

• A more balanced inflammatory response
• Muscle strength (especially when inflammation can contribute to muscle loss)
• Bone health, especially after past medication use
• Better stress regulation and improved sleep
• A stronger connection to nutrition and how I fuel my body

It’s not about intensity…it’s about consistency and intention.

Movement doesn’t fix everything, but it can be a powerful way to support the body over time.

Lately I’ve seen and heard people say their allergies have gotten worse or this is the worse they have ever been.

When you hear more than a few people say similar statements, I begin to pick up on the pattern.

Shifts in environment, air quality, and climate can influence the nervous system, hormones, and inflammatory responses.

There are so many factors that could influence the histamine/inflammatory response within the body. It can be internal or external.

The main focus should be to maintain regulation and overall well-being.

Changes in light, weather, and environment can influence how the body feel, especially when navigating hormonal, autoimmune, or chronic conditions.

For many, gloomy or low-light days may feel heavier, with shifts in energy, mood, or physical comfort.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, these environments are associated with dampness and stagnation, which can contribute to feelings of heaviness or low energy.

Supporting the body through these changes with consistent, gentle practices can help maintain balance.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body is deeply connected to the natural world.

The same rhythms that exist in nature; seasons, cycles, movement, are reflected within us.

When we begin to align with those rhythms through simple practices like spending time outdoors, eating seasonally, and slowing down, we support the body in a more natural and sustainable way.

Taking care of the body and the earth often go hand in hand.

Taking time to receive care is just as important as giving it.

As practitioners, we hold space, support others, and show up for our patients but our own bodies need that same level of attention.

Acupuncture and cupping are part of how I support my nervous system, circulation, and overall balance.

This isn’t just something I offer…it’s something I believe in enough to do for myself.
