As a mental health advocate and graduate I’ve learned the only way out of pain is to share it. We can read all the books, get all the therapy, take all the yoga classes, and pray without ceasing, (and yes these things all help!) but a human can’t fully heal until they share their pain in a community with others.
And that’s why I created the live show! If you would have told little Sarah she’d move to Los Angeles and create her own show called Funny People Cry Too, I would have never laughed literally, but here I am living in LA championing for peoples mental health, and I think this is just the way my story was meant to unfold.
Speaking of my mental health story, guess what? I’ll be sharing it tomorrow at 9am live on Honestly, it’s terribly hard for me to talk about being a daughter of a mother with extreme mental health conditions, but this life experience lead me to do all that I do as an artist and advocate for mental health. Stories of pain are important because they lead us to our purpose, and tomorrow I’m sharing mine with one of the best online platforms to learn about and heal your mental health. ✨

In, 2019 I griped about this. Too much work, not enough time, sooooo much unpaid word. Way too tired.

In, 2020 I changed my perspective. We now have the opportunity to create exactly what we always wanted to see in the world! How amazing is that!

On October 6, 2019 seven brave storytellers shared a personal story about their experience with mental illness while two fabulous musicians shared personal songs related to this topic.

October is the national month to end the stigma against mental illness, and we did it!

The show SOLD OUT, and a portion of all ticket sales went directly to NAMI (The National Alliance of Mental Illness) to help end the stigma against mental illness.
