Grief is a fascinating experience. A dear friend of mine said she believes “we spend a lot of our lives in grief and are unaware of it”. This resonated deeply with me.

I’m currently grieving, and when I received the news, I felt my consciousness expand in a way that was painful yet profoundly familiar. I was flooded with feelings of grief that preceded this loss ever being a thought in my mind. I was in touch with a deep longing for “home” and many thoughts of “what if”… all while simultaneously knowing on every level of my being - this is all temporary.

We all will be home soon.

Grief of any sort perhaps is just a reminder of the momentary loss we all share while moving through and existing in this life - the loss of remembering we are one.

If you’re lacking abundance, do a little self-inventory. Where are you spending your energy? Are you leaving space for opportunity and wealth to find you? Are you remembering to look up and appreciate all you have done so far? And possibly most importantly - are you engaging in conversation, social media, behaviors, and energy that are low-vibrational?

If so cut that sh*t out and take a pause. Look at how far you come. More is coming, just be ready.

Transgender.
Mutant.
Trans Mutant.
Transmute.

Many anti-trans people refer to us as “mutants”. There are people out there, big scary numbers of people, that have truly made it their business to wish ill upon us. They believe that being a “mutant” is abhorrent and most of us are not even worthy of life itself. Folks rally mockingly online scrambling over who gets to play executioner in a fantasy transgender genocide all while LOLing heartily and gleefully rejoicing on the idea of everyones ge****ls matching their preferred gender containers. Yes, seriously, this is real.

The other day my son, who is recognizing some of the changes I am going through, ran over while overhearing a conversation I was having with his little sister on the subject and declared with glee “MOM! You’re like a mutant!!!”

I initially felt the sting of remembering posts on the internet that I’ve seen speaking about us as if we are lesser humans. Calling us “mutants” and “sick” and “disgusting” saying we are “confusing children” and harming society as a whole.

His giant smile reminded me how mystical and celebrated we transgender folks also are. Many gods, deities and spiritual figures are genderless or bigender. I believe we hold a great capacity to transcend the physical limitations, heal, and shatter ego. I believe we can tap into unique abilities due to our vantage point of “crossing over” in the physical plane.

I thought about the words “transgender” and “mutant” and “transmute” then dug up a little etymology. The word “mutant” has a negative connotation in society (as most delicious things have) but all it truly means is “to change”. The root “mei” (mute) means “to change, go, move.”

If you aren’t changing or moving - what *are* you doing?

Trans comes from the root “tere” which means "cross over, pass through, overcome."

I am a trans mutant. I transmute. I Change so that I can Cross Over, Pass Through, and Overcome.

Just like I will always wear proudly the badge of Rebel, Pervert, Renegade, Anarchist, Witch…. I will add “Mutant” as well and always remember how cool and powerful my son thinks I am for that.

I just got certified in Basic DNA and I’ll be doing the advanced course next month.

I stumbled into a program with divine timing run by one of my new favorite humans .walk. The program has been perfectly timed as I am approaching the next big steps in my life and my business. It’s time to level up.

I’ve been in a period of growing pains… but I’m so thrilled to be learning some skills and a *framework* for the unique gifts I’ve been given. Not to mention, the insights I’ve been provided on my own journey are huge. I look forward to when I come out of the hermit mode I’ve been in to pop off with you all and share some knowledge!

When I first curated this brand (Gold Lion Healing), it was under the pressure to create another version of a mask. I was told my shadow and my differences were “bad” and how exactly to be “good”. I slapped a whole lot of love and light on it. And then I broke free and rebuilt trust in me. I’m grateful for that time because it helped me come to where I am now, reclaiming my power, identity, my wild sexuality, my ferocious passion, my hunger for protecting and empowering folks like me - q***rs, witches, perverts, wh**es, outcasts, and renegades. We deserve communion with Spirit. We are God. We are all colors of the rainbow and the darkness too…

Patience is something I historically was unable to practice. It’s taken immense discipline and calming of my nervous system to do so. For those of us who’ve experienced intense trauma, the sense of impending danger can live in our bodies long after it’s over. Our hustle culture society doesn’t help either. Folks are under an immense pressure to be something, be someone, do better harder faster. What happens when instead we sit in stillness and allow things to unfold in their own time? Life is full of fascinating paradoxes. Often when we stop clinging and rushing, things tend to work out just fine with much greater ease.

So here’s me looking handsome, being patient, allowing things to unfold and show me where to go next.

If you find yourself living your life for anyone else but you, I urge you to stop immediately. You have all the choice in the world. Make a choice today, right now, to commit to yourself and your truth. Nothing and no one is holding you back. This life is too short and you have too much to learn. Walk away from all that confines you. Preserve what nourishes you. Trust that when you let go and live your truth, all will work out. I promise you, from my heart to yours, there is a better life outside of walls you’ve built for yourself. 💕

Kambo! 🐸 kambo is a medicine derived from the poison of the giant monkey frog. It is not psychoactive, a purely physical experience that invokes many physical health benefits as well as spiritual lessons and energetic cleansing. This was my second time sitting with kambo and even after all of the intensive medicines I have sat with, I was looking for any reason to back out. But spirit called me and the full moon aligned with my appointment and I decided to continue to challenge myself and explore!

The medicine is applied by opening the skin through small burns, then placing the poison on the burns. It comes on like a heat in your body. They say it’s a lymphatic cleanse and you feel it in your neck big time, sometimes in your throat giving the sensation that it’s restricting although it’s not. Sometimes your face may get very swollen and puffy and you can begin to even appear like a frog!

Subsequently you experience an intense purge of vomiting (sometimes diarrhea if you haven’t fasted long) which is the goal of the medicine.

The woman serving me encouraged me that if I wished for the medicine to be gentle it would. And she was right. I needed tenderness and I got it.

Kambo shows me to embrace discomfort and allow it to pass through me. And I did so with grace. It took me a bit longer to fully surrender and purge on this journey than the last, but I did easily overall.

It is intended that you sit with the medicine working on you until you fully purge. You spend the day fasting and then drink two liters of water. You should purge all of the water until bile appears.

Often emotions purge as well. Mine comes in the form of sobbing. It is extremely cleansing and purifying to release these stored emotions. Afterward we discussed some of my sadness, and as I spoke, my body trembled and shook as the medicine and stored emotions left my body. I woke up the next day very clear and free.

Grateful for this medicine and will likely revisit it soon on my heart center. 🙏🏼

Happy Thanksgiving!

I invite you to celebrate gratitude and family while honoring the truth.

Today, I’m grateful to the Native people of the land I live on for enduring and surviving what my ancestors have done to them, and continuing to speak up to teach us the truth.

In my house, we will spend time praying and honoring Native Americans, making an altar, and sending out healing and strengthening energy to those lives lost and those that continue to suffer at the hands of puritanical Europeans.

We count our blessings and honor the truth. ☮️
